Trumpet???!
Question: Trumpet!?!?!?
I have been playing the calrinet and the piano for many years, so I have a lot of musical background, but I am just learning to play the trumpet!. Do you have any tips for starting off on the right foot or any tips about embochure!. The embochure is really what I am getting used to because the clarinet embochure is so much different!. Some things to remember are make sure the mouth piece is centered on your mouth (make sure it is not off to one side or something weird like that!. You can look in a mirror to check)!. also (this really bad habit by ALL starting brass players) do NOT push the instrument against your lips to get the high notes to come out!. Focus on tone!. Playing lots of long tones as beautifully as you can goes a long way to develop the embochure and endurance!. They're boring as hell but it's the most efficient path to development!.
You can do range exercises and lip flexibilities until you're blue in the face but long tones build tone and strength and that will serve you better in the long run!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Ok!.!.!.SO I too play clarinet!.!.!.!.and I use to fiddle around with the trumpet!.
You use the same embochure for both intruments!.
Make sure your mouth is tight!. Really the only differecne is that as the pitch changes!.!.!.you need to either squeeze your embochure tighter!.!.!.or loosen it up a bit!.
The higher the note!.!.!.the tighter you squeeze your embochure!.!.!.and the lower the note!.!.!.the looser you make your embochure!.
When you blow into the trumpet!.!.!.!.your lips should vibrate!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.this is what allows you to get noise out of the trumpet!.
It takes practice!.!.!.but you will get the hang of it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
