Mostly, nothing will happen!. You'll send a bunch of CDs and you'll never hear back from them but keep sending them!. All it takes is one person at a label to hear your stuff and like it!.
You should also try sending your stuff to credible producers!. If a producer likes you as an artist, that's a faster way through the door at the labels!. The labels trust these producers because they have given them hit records in the past so if the producer likes you, signs you then takes you to a label, chances are they'll sign you because they trust his ears!.
Try searching through MySpace!.!.!. everybody's on there!. if you search smart/hard enough, you'll find them!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The honest answer is Nothing, and not because you wouldn't be good enough, but because it is EXTREMELY RARE for a record label to sign an act strictly on a demo alone!. Record Labels are interested in making money, and they want proof that you can do that!. The best way to prove it is to perform often and work on building a fan base that will come see you frequently and spend money on merchandise!.
The best demo in the world isn't going to make as good an impression as a terrible singer who can get 500 people to come out to every performance!.
That being said, Demos aren't completely useless, but most record labels use those as jumping off points to decide which bands they should go see perform live!. If a Rep likes your demo, they might look you up and come watch a live performance, but be prepared, because if you only have 5 people in the audience, he's going to pass!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I can tell you exactly what will happen - nothing!.

Record labels are sent hundreds of demos each and every day!. Because they receive so many demos the odds are very high that one of their signed artists may release something that, by coincidence only, sounds similar to some demo sent to them!. To avoid being sued each and every time they release something, the labels immediately throw all demos into the trash!. As a matter of fact, the demos never even make it into the building!.

To protect themselves, the labels make no exceptions!.

If you want to further your career, then I would suggest finding a good entertainment attorney!. They can help you broker your stuff!.

Beyond what's already said, the best chance you have is if it's a small label that's pretty much local to you!.
They're more likely to sign up relative unknowns and sell through local stores!.

Don't expect much though, they too get enough demo tapes that they don't have time to even listen to most of them let alone respond to everything that sounds like it might be good enough to be turned into an economic success!.

And when they do show interest, be very careful!.
There are a lot of people who are tricked out of a lot of money by less than honest contracts!.
Think being asked to fund the first release yourself, to be repaid from the income of the recordings!.
Then think about the percentage of recordings hitting stores that actually make a profit (especially recordings by unknown artists)!.
Consider that that percentage is vanishingly small!. Remove the big names that sell by name alone to a worldwide fanbase and you're thinking a fraction of a percent of CDs hitting stores actually selling more than a few hundred copies (if that)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i think yourll get rejected a few times
but you just got to keep at it, the music buisness is one of the hardest buissnes` to get into maybe make a music myspace uploads some of your songs on that and get loads of friends see if it can pick up from that!.!.!. try and send demos around to places and keep making new material , perhaps do some pub gigs too!?
thats the best advice i think i can give and good luck :)
