The best way is to search for the instrumental!. The reason for this is that taking vocals out of track yourself with software is never perfect!. You will almost always still hear the vocals!. Vocals occupy the same frequencies as the background music!. Since most vocal removal algorithms attempt to excise them out using an EQ-like technique, removing the vocals would also degrade the background music, sometimes to the point where the background music can no longer be used!. Others attempt to add a reverb effect to mask the damage, but you will 1!. still hear the vocals in the background, and 2!. be left with an irritating reverb!. The best algorithms use a chromatography-like technique, but we normally use these in research so they're very expensive and you'll have to look for one in a scientific catalog!. Some advanced VSTs will allow you to do it but the results are sketchy!.
If you have the acapella, it is easier to remove the vocals as you can simply subtract the vocals from the original and then re-EQ the resulting background music!. I mention this because sometimes they make an acapella but no instrumental!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
