Question: Whats the deal with guitar playing skill!?
ok i put this awsner up here because i keep telling people what kind of music i play and who my favorite guitarist is and i say i love to play stuff by the ramones and my favorite guitarist is johnny ramone because he never did complex solos he just did basic three chord riffs!. and then they say learn real music and i go **** you i have my own style and you have yours!. anyway before i get more into that rant what is peoples deal with that if you play guitar i got to know difficult stuff!. its not like you to know how to shred like malmsteen to be good!. what is you opinion on this!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Don't worry I get this as well, its often a case of passion (you) over precision (them)!. If you have an interest in the Ramones and their music then go for it, often but not always the people who can shred and slide about which their bloody teeth are just copycats who dont have any real feel!.!.!.cold showoffs in other words!. You feel the warmth of your instrument, hit a few bum notes and probably make your female friends smile by not always being completely on pitch!.!.!.but thats what playings all about, seriously take it at your own pace and do what appeals to you!. Many people feel that you need to be able to shred really fast notes to be considered good!.!.!.sometimes I like a slower guitar solo!.!.!.I like slow guitar solos more than the fast ones!. But that is only my opinion and preference!.!.!. plus a fast guitar solo is useless if the SONGWRITING part of it is bad!. You said you like basic three chord riffs, that's fine!.!.!.songs with that can still be great if you're a great songwriter with the chords and know how to arrange the music!. Because all the fast note playing is useless if you can't actually sit down and write a SONG!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
You should definitely follow your own instinct for your playing!. Success comes from standing out, not from blending in!.
However, those who can play lightning fast generally have the option of playing slow as well!. You have nothing to lose by learning to play fast as well!.

Solos don't have to be complex to be amazing!. Look at Eric Clapton!. Wonderful Tonight was huge, and that has to be the easiest solo ever written, Layla isn't much tougher!. Leonard Cohen was just a songwriting guitarist but he wrote some of the most beautiful songs ever!
Oh, and for all Hendrix's skills and showmaship one of the aspects that perhaps sealed his status as you-know-what was the fact that he was a poet in his own way!.!.!. Great lyrics he wrote!.!.

The Ramones were innovators!. Who cares if they couldn't play 10 notes in a second like some people say you have to to be geniuses!. They were geniuses in their own way!. People should learn to accept this fact!. Some of them probably have only heard of Jimi Hendirx as a good guitarist, so don't listen to them!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
