Answers:
There were lots of country stars before Jimmie Rodgers!. Among them:

Vernon Dalhart (who, in 1925, became the first million-selling country act in history when "The Prisoner's Song" sold 3 million copies)
Uncle Dave Macon (major star of the WSM Barn Dance/Grand Ole Opry beginning at its inception in 1927)
Ernest V!. Stoneman (who is being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year)
Gid Tanner & the Skillet Lickers
Eck Robertson (who is credited as being the first country artist to be recorded with his version of "Sallie Gooden," 1922)

All were popular before Jimmie Rodgers did his first recording!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Technically, I suppose Vernon Dalhart WAS the first country star, with the Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers recording later!. (Vernon Dalhart recorded "The Wreck of the Old 97" in 1924, both the Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers weren't recorded until 1927!.) However, the Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers remained popular in country music after Dalhart's popularity in country music had receded!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The first "superstar" of the Country Genre was Vernon Dalhart with "the Prisoners Song"!!
followed by Jimmy Rodgers, Elton Britt and Patsy MontanaWww@Enter-QA@Com
