How hard and how long is learning piano?!

Question: How hard and how long is learning piano!?
I want to learn the Piano!. I have no idea how to read music sheets!. I am basically starting fresh on music!. How long does it take for most people to learn!? How long does it take to be able to read any music sheet and be able to play it!? Once again, I'm looking for the average amount of time or how long it took you to do it!.

Please no bragging from some of you people, I want real honest answers!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It can vary widely, but I've seen plenty of people playing competently by their second year, though being able to sight read in real time usually takes longer!. also, if you can already play by ear at all, you'll find it tougher to learn to read music than if you're starting with a clean slate!. I was playing pretty well (and doing some basic composing) by my third year, but even now that I've been playing for about 12 years, I still struggle to read music because I was always a play by ear type!. But don't let that discourage you!. Learning to play is always a rewarding experience no matter how long it takes!. Good luck!Www@Enter-QA@Com

With lessons and / or practice, most people can achieve the ability to read sheet music within six months, and to play easy to intermediate pieces well within two years!.

The basics of sheet music are easy to grasp, but, as with any language, the details take time!. Likewise, it takes awhile to get the feel for how to play a piano, to learn a new style of coordination, and to build up the muscles in your hands and arms!.

Because all the notes have individual keys, and there's only one way to make each note, many people find that piano is a great choice of instrument for learning how to read sheet music!. GL and have fun making music :)Www@Enter-QA@Com

How long!?!? Well, how good do you want to get!? Just so you know, you have to put in a LOT of effort and time to get anywhere near professional or at least very good!. Again, the time it takes to learn to read sheet music is determined by how much effort you put into it!. If you can't read music already you're gonna have to start to learn, and that itself takes time!. You wont instantly be able to start sight reading!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Hey well I learnt a few songs on key board when I did music for a subject!. I did it for a term but I played guitar for a bit of it so well it didnt realy take me that long!. Oh and I play the flute so I could already read music but it is way different coz you have to work out where your fingers have to go so like stick little name tags on the keys with the not on the like the not g or b or wateva and write the notes letters under the music you are playing!.

Hope I helped lol coz thats how I learnt Key board!.

I took choir in 8th grade and learned some basic music
theory andtwo years later I got a guitar, then after a few months a keyboard and after a total of 3 years, from 8th grade, I can read music, very very slowly!. If someone is going to teach you, maybe twice a week about theory and how to play, it shouldn't take you more than 6 months!.:}Www@Enter-QA@Com
