What is the point of politcal rappers?!

Question: What is the point of politcal rappers!?
I personally think they're a waste of space!. They moan and complain about how hard life is, and for what!? They stay underground so they don't make much money and still get ignored but people who have the ability to do anything!. Now I know people will say it's not about money, so what are they doing it for!? Why not just become someone like Farrakhan or Al Sharpton who people listen to, do you think George Bush even knows who Immortal Technique or stic!. man & M1 is!? More to the point does he care!? They do not help out their community one bit, in what way is crying like a b*tch about having no food helping the ghettos!? Why not try to open up a charity or do something useful instead of making mindless complaints!. If they still find the need to waste their breathe why don't they at least send a CD to the various politicians instead of handing them out to people on the street corner!? People like Pac were heard by all, not a select few "rap fans" but by everyone

Thank you have a nice eveningWww@Enter-QA@Com

It's a matter of personal taste!. Political rappers may be predominantly underground right now, but they haven't always been!.

First hip hop I ever heard was PE's Nation of Millions!. Listening to them encouraged/inspired me to go out and educate myself about the issues they rapped about!. Whilst educating myself about these issues, that in turn led to me wanting to learn more about all sorts of other issues!. I was a white girl from the Scottish Highlands reading up on the history of slavery and the social injustices born of institutionalised racism who may otherwise remained completely ignorant about these issues!.

That's what the point of it is to me!.

Some choose to listen, some don't!. That's each individual's choice!. But if even a handful of people can be reached, then it IS worth it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

well they're just voicing their opinions to the public whether they're trying to get at people wit this or need to vent their frustrations, its not even really a matter of rappin for money or makin it mainstream for most of them its just likin rap music, being good at it, probably not being dedicated or interested enough to work at goin mainstream, and spreadin your opinions for personal pleasureWww@Enter-QA@Com

YOUR COMMENTS SHOWS THAT YOU ARE A COWARD,
THESE POLITICAL RAPPERS DONT JUST RAP THEY DO MORE THINGS THAN THAT!.
YOU ARE A JEALOUS LITTLE KID!.WHAT DOES A PU55Y A55 KID LIKE YOU KNOW!.YOU WATCH TOO MUCH FOX NEWS!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

political rappers dont just talk about presidential issues or how broke they are!.!.wut about NWA, and Ice Cube (solo), their music addressed issues effecting the youths and minorities in their communities!.!.i agree with you about immortal technique, but all "political" rappers dont talk about thatWww@Enter-QA@Com

Being a "political rapper" is just a way to rap all tough and hard!.!.!.but to have a point with it!.!.!.so it wont seem like mindless babble!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

there doing it as a release 2 get it of there chest!.!.!.i wouldnt call them political rappers i wud call them real rappersWww@Enter-QA@Com

I kind of agree with you, I almost feel like a lot of the political rappers don't even vote, even though I cant really prove that!. I never liked Immortal Technique, all he does is rap about conspiracy theories and try to jam his political opinion down someone else's throat through music!. They should definitely step up and do something about the politics they are complaining about!. Great question BTW

EDIT: bonnie made a good point, but I think that that was a result of the time period, I find now a days people wouldnt even care enough to educate themselves on the issues being talked about in that kind of rap!. Back around PE's time, people were a lot more into educating themselves and learning because of the time period!. The youth were raised better back then, and had better role models to look up to!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
