Is there much difference between the standard of "Rappers Delight" and!

Question: Is there much difference between the standard of "Rappers Delight" and "Crank That"!?
Yeah yeah yeah I know people will say "Rappers Delight" is a classic song but is there any lyrical difference between that and "Crank That"!? I mean at least "Crank That" wasn't stolen!. "A hip hip hoppaty hip hip hop" or "Soulja boy up in this hoe watch me lean and watch me rock", what's the difference!? Both silly childish rhymes, at least Soulja Boy isn't a grown man!.

I know I will be bashed for this but let me just say I hate biters and copy cats, prime example Sugarhill GangWww@Enter-QA@Com

Let's say that there isn't (and I agree that there is a case that very thing is true)!.

Isn't it kind of sad that, after all this time of hip hop evolving, "Crank That" is only on the same level of something that is 30 years old!?

APAK
It was still stolen!. Caz didn't get paid for the song, even after all the success it brought the Sugarhill Gang!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Rappers Delight has a lot more lyrical substance than Crank Dat!.!. And the fact that is was "stolen" doesn't lower it's "standard"!.!.

Plus it wasn't stolen!.!. Grandmaster Caz wrote all of Hank's rhymes for him!.!. No one stole anything!.!.

@ Omagus - Oh ok!.!. Well I suppose saying they "stole royalties" from the song might be more accurate to say!.!. But it's all basically the same I guess!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yep You probably will be bashed LOL

"Last time I checked words like "hippity" and "hoppity"
That doesnt mean anything
People say stuff all the time thats not in the dictionary

Don't Hate, Appreciate!.

"Rapper's Delight"

That song was a hip hop trailblazer!.

But I get what your saying, The song really wasn't that great at all and gained popularity the same way "Crank Dat" did!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

No there really isnt, bash me all you want but its true!. I make this comparison all of the time when people decide to make judgment calls about what is "real" and "true" Hip-Hop!. Props for putting this out there!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well!. When Hip Hop began, the lyrics were usally about partying,(SugarHill)

Prephaps Soulja Boy is bringing it back but just in a different way!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Before bashing, I'd like to ask why you call sugarhill biters and copy cats!? Because of the sample used in "Rappers Delight!?"Www@Enter-QA@Com

Soulja Boy is a freaky and nasty *** lil dude, and his Soulja Boy album suckedWww@Enter-QA@Com

I like songs with actual meaning to them!. Dr dre and Eminem are good examples!. Annoying radio hits bother meWww@Enter-QA@Com

Now im not going to get mad or tell you off or nothing but I just cant understand how you call Sugarhill Gang a "copy cat"!. They were original and the first!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Rappers delight had LYRICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crank Dat doesn't!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

at least the verses make senseWww@Enter-QA@Com
