I'd actually stay away from Squier!. They are decent for the first few months, but then you start noticing how they really are!. They get muddy, the strings start buzzing, and other problems crop up!. also, if you're into metal, Squier/ Fender are nono's most of the time!. They're more of the regular rock'n'roll sound!. Lighter, and warmer!. If you're into metal, 'd suggest an Ibanez starter pack!. Ibanez is really good on the metal scene, and they have good quality on their packs!. also, later on if you can, buy Epiphone or Gibson basses!. Gibson may be too expensive (Probably will be) but Epiphone offers very high quality and low, reasonable prices!. Search around for the one you want, and read lots of reviews before deciding!.
