Thoughts on this symphonic power metal band?!
Question: Thoughts on this symphonic power metal band!?
They're called Amberian Dawn!. I've been listening to their music, and then the other day it was posted on the Epica website that AD will be their main support band on their upcoming tour!.
Now keep in mind that this is no OMGWOWAMAZING band, but the music is good!. The female singer is, of course, operatic sounding, but she sounds different than Tarja/Simone!. The voice gets *slightly* annoying at times, but like I said - it's not the best band out there, but not too bad!. I like them myself!.

I like them!.!.!. I totally love the start of Lullaby, lol ^^;; I'm not keen on Face of Maiden!.!.!. I don't know, I don't dislike it, it just doesn't really stand out to me!. But I really like the other two!. :)Www@Enter-QA@Com
Lullaby is probably my favorite, the other two are good, as far as the genre goes this band is pretty good, it does seem to lack a certain amount of energy thoughWww@Enter-QA@Com

They're so similar to Nightwish, it's a bit scary!.
Apparently their keyboardist is even named Tuomas, too!. LOL!.
They're okay, but they're obviously trying to cash in on the success of the great, classic symphonic metal bands before them - Nightwish, Epica, etc!. Unfortunately, there are so many bands that try to mimic Nightwish, and Nightwish is a band that cannot be mimicked and done well, simply because they are themselves and not someone else!.
also, Nightwish happens to have one thing all of the symphonic metal bands in the world don't - Tuomas Holopainen!. And while Mr!. Holopainen writes songs for Nightwish, no one will be able to copy his musical genius!.
So I like them okay, but until they get their own style and find their sound, I won't listen to much more!. It was just a little boring, since I know all the bands that have done it before, and done it better!.
