R&P: Does the type of music you listen to influence the way you dress?!

Question: R&P: Does the type of music you listen to influence the way you dress!?
I think most people nowadays let their music influence where they shop and what they wear (obviously starting labels)!. Do you let that happen!?

On another note, what song could describe how your summer's going so far!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
I prefer to shop at thrift stores than at the mall!. My average outfit is a T-shirt and jeans!.!.!.
I don't have any band T-shirts or things that would indicate that I listen to Indie Rock!. I just want to stand out from the whole preppy abercrombie teen look that is so popular today!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think some insecure high school aged people let that happen, because they get overly worried about how they will be perceived by others, especially the 'trend-setting' popular people!. For example, I knew many people that will debate for days what to wear on an 'own clothes day' or whether wearing a red bracelet as opposed to a blue one would significantly drop their social status (though they'd pretend otherwise if someone asked them later)!.

You'll see a lot of 'gangstas' wearing sweat pants 3 sizes too big and a red sox cap, even though they don't follow baseball!. Similarly, wear an item of sports clothing like a polo shirt more than once *or, heavens,no!* - something burberry :o - and you'll be labelled a 'chav' etc!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It doesn't, no!.

98% of the time, I'm wearing all/mostly black clothing and favourite genre [along with Shoegazing] is Gothic Rock - but the two aren't interlinked!. I just like dark clothing!.

also, I listen to many different types of music so if I was to embrace all of the fashions that came along with the music I listen to it would certainly be an!.!.!. interesting combination!.

I guess there is more pressure on people to conform to certain styles if they closely identify themselves with the subculture that comes along with the music!.
If people like the fashion associated with a 'label' or a subculture and choose to embrace it then I think it's quite alright - it's when people feel that they /need/ to dress a certain way that I have an issue with it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

not at all!. people that wear pac sun clothes are usually teeny boppers that listen to radio pop!. i wear pac sun clothes mostly and not a second of my day is spent listening to anything on the radio (unless it's bob and tom, which isn't music at all)

Not at all!.!.!. except for the occasional concert tee formerly belonging to my mother!. I have a unique taste in clothes, but none of it screams classic rock!.

Time by Pink Floyd (I've said this before, but whatever) because I feel like I'll never catch up with what I have to do, but I also feel like that the "important" stuff is extremely unimportant in the scheme of things!. I'm just ticking away the moments that make up a dull day!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Not really, no!. I tend to just wear whatever is comfortable!.

The first song that came to mind was Sunburn by Muse!. Not that it really has anything to do with actually getting sunburned, but I did last week and it currently itches rather a lot!. That just goes to show I am much too pale to lay out in the sun for any length of time!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well, I own band t shirts, but I only really wear them on the weekends!. It's not usually people's first guess that I listen to rock!. I shop at the Gap and Club Monaco alot!. The store clerks would have no idea I listen to Slayer!

Not a bit!.!.!.my mp3 player contains oldies, rock, r&b, classical, swing, novelty, metal (both current and 70's), disco, country, pop, bluegrass, who knows what else!.!.!.!.and if you were to meet me in person, it's a 95% probability that I'd be wearing an NFL Starter jersey (unless I've got one of my Three Stooges T-Shirts on that day) and a pair of cutoffs!.

Nope!.!.!.no influence there!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
