Great question!.!.!.!.I think he's extremely underappreciated for several reasons, not the least of which is that he's almost invisible in terms of publicity!. He doesn't "self-promote" like the rest of the band, and I actually admire that!.
And you're right, he's very blues based which gives him a very distinct sound!.!.!.!.not to mention the "Effects" he uses on his guitar!.!.!.!.he's got clean, fast speed which he makes "dirty" and is a killer "richness" to the sound he getsWww@Enter-QA@Com

He is not particularly exciting, but yes, he does a reliable, good job overall!. If you want to hear a real winner who o0bvercame a real disadvantage, listen to (and read about) Django Reinhardt - a genius unsurpassed to date, by now over 50 years later!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Yes!!! I totally agree!. I mean he is the living image of perseverance and strong will!. also the first time I heard his guitar playing, I was hooked for life, and him and Nikki Sixx really complement each other seeing as they are the only two people playing the melodic parts of their songs!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Ya definately, Motley Crue is the only band I know where the bass player (nikki sixx) and the drummer (tommy lee) are more known in the public eye than the lead guitarist!. But ya hes a great player and totally under rated!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
