Question: I need to change the key of a chord progression in Dm to G!.!.!.!?
the chord progression is Dm, Aadd9, F7m, C7m
I need it to be moved up to the key of G major!.
it would be great if someone could do this for me, but it would also be great if you told me about any web sites which will do this for you automatically, in case I ever need to do it again!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Okay, to begin here, I'm going to ignore the quality of the chords and just look at their roots because you're going from a minor key to a major key!.
THE D PROGRESSION:
A is the 5th interval of D!.
F is the 3rd of D!.
C is the 7th of D!.
SWITCHING TO G:
D is the 5th of G!.
B is the 3rd of G!.
F# is the 7th of G!.
You see, I switched scales, but kept the same intervals to find the new notes!.
Now, I guess we just have to play out the G scale to see what quality these chords should be!.!.!.
So, you start with G major!.
The add9 on the D chord would be an E note, but the D is a minor, not major!.
The B is actually a B minor 7th!.
and the F# is actually an F#7!. It has a major 3rd, but a minor 7th!.
So thats!.!.!.
G, Dm add9, Bm7, F#7
That interesting how Mar came up with something different!. Actually, now that I've really looked at it, his chord progression is relative to mine (what he called parallel)!. In other words, an E minor key will have the same notes as a G major key!. It's really just the theory/interval names that change!.!.!. In the key of E minor, G is the 3rd, actually a minor 3rd!. In the key of G, B is the 3rd, actually a major 3rd!.

G major is parallel with Em, so all you need to do is transpose everything by one step up:
Em Badd9 G7m D7m
