What do you like about metal?!
Question: What do you like about metal!?
I mean like death metal or speed metal or stuff like that!. I PROMISE I"M NOT INSULTING YOUR TASTE!. I'm just interested to know what makes you enjoy it, cause I just never really got into it!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

whats not to like!? there are so many metal bands that are so intricate, musically technical and complex if you are a musician its killer for intellectual stimulation!. its also a platform and foundation for just about any kind of emotion you can think of, and any kind of lyrical content you can imagine!. its a killer outlet, a method for releasing frustration, anger, happiness, violent fantasies, whatever!. in other words its a perfect tool for emotional, artistic and musical expression!. some people don't really like it at first and develop as well as acquire a taste for it, love it the second they hear it, or just don't like it or understand it!.

If you actually look up their lyrics, they're actually better than other songs, even if it seems like they're singing about nothing!.
It takes a lot of talent to have a voice like that, let alone being able to sing for a death metal band!. Believe it or not, most people think they're singing right when using "death growls and screams," but then they find out they've just damaged their voice, because there really is a right way to sing like so!. They even have trainers to do this!.
Angela Gossow, for example!. She damaged her voice at some point in time while singing for Arch Enemy, when it took her months to regain that power and she had to learn how to sing again!.

I love the aggressive vocals, it can rub off on you, ya know!? lol
I like music that has a nice melody, but also can retain it's aggressiveness without being "brutal" for the sake of being brutal!.
Sometimes, metal bands will also address subjects that other bands won't!. Metal lyricists are not always the best, but sometimes they can write some nice lyrics where it would fit perfect for a really nice poem!. It can also be uplifting in a way, it can make ya feel good about yourself!. It's fast, and you feel like nothing can stop you!. lol And when you hear this really long, drawn out scream that's loud and it's like "wow"!.!.!.especially hearing a good fierce growl!.!.!.and then you can hear the emotion in it!. Even though people who don't listen to death metal would disagree!.!.!.I think that bands do put emotion in their music!. Well at least the ones I listen to, I like to hear a good guitar solo too, but it's not always about that!. But for me, I really enjoy hearing that drawn out scream, it's amazing!. too bad I can't do it myself!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well!. I like the muscianship of it!. Nothing needs to be overly technical I just love the melodic qualities of it!. I admit the lyrics aren't always good but there are death metal bands who do write about stuff other than gore!. I just like powerful music whatever it may be!. That being said, my musical taste is not one dimensional!.

Well I like loud brutal stuff!. The heavy riffs, the solo's, the blast beats!. But what i Like most is the ability to have intelligent lyrics in a brutal setting!. Melodic Death Metal bands more or less talk about way more intelligent stuff then most other genres!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well first of all it is the talent that most Metal musicians have!. Their songs are often very technical!.
Second of all is the hard work Metal musicians put into their music!. It takes them a long time to finish a song, while Rap artists can usually get a song finished in one day!. They take breaks, but not as often as many Rap artists do!.
Third of all (this mostly goes for the heavier Metal bands, think Death Metal rather then Power Metal) they are not "divas"!. They are not demanding!. They do not typically make enough money to just blow it on 10 cars and a house with more bedrooms then they need!. They stay good and genuine people while possibly having tons of fans!.!. unlike those Hollywood celebrities!.
Fourth of all it gets me pumped!. Can you bang your head and mosh to soulja boy!? Nope!.
I love it!. I just sit for an hour listening to it really loud, and then when I stop listening to it I'm all energetic!. This is great right before basketball tryouts!. =P It is also great for working out!.
Fifth of all is Metal is different!. It is original!. There is nothing out there like it!. Screamo and Metalcore are just bad ripoffs of it!.
Sixth is the variety!. So many subgenres that are all different, and within those subgenres there are many bands that are all different!. Whatever I'm in the mood for I have!. When I want to hear Viking Metal, I can listen to Ensiferum!. When I want to hear Black Metal, I can listen to Mayhem!. When I want to listen to Death Metal I can listen to Behemoth!. When I want to listen to Thrash Metal I can listen to Megadeth!. When I want to listen to Melodic Death Metal I can listen to Children of Bodom!. When I want to listen to Power Metal I can listen to Helloween!. There is so much to choose from I can NEVER get tired or bored with Metal!.
Seventh is the "brotherhood"!. I can go to a Metal concert and be treated like family by complete strangers!. Most Metal fans are all so kind and accepting!. It is belonging!. It is the ability to be yourself without being bashed!.
And I could go on!. But those are the main reasons!. Metal is something you have to understand, and be somewhat educated about to like IMO!. Metal is highly misjudged, so many people think it is "closely linked to Satanism" and for the most part, it isn't!. It is something you have to gradually get used to over time!. You have to understand your fellow fans, and understand what it is truly about!. Until then, you can say you're a Metal fan as much as you want, but only when you grasp it can you be a true headbanger!. You have to feel the power of what you are representing when you raise those horns!. \m/
