Answers:
I have wondered the same thing, a friend of mine reckons that he read somewhere that at the present rate of music writeing all possible note permiatations will be used up in 60 years, dont know if this is true or not, but obviously there are the lyrics to take into account which will always be differant and disguse the notes to a degreeWww@Enter-QA@Com

Each bar has a finite number of combinations, but it's how you combine those bars into music that determine the truly huge number of variations!. And it also depends on how long the piece of music is!.

It's a bit like writing words!. There are a finite number of words, but each time you put them together you square the possible number of combinations!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Technically it does, Infinite pitches(counting the inaudible), Infinite fractions for rhythmic note values(counting the impossibly fast), so no!. Even with only aubible and actually playable there are too many combinations to work with than we could possibly go through!.

EDIT: Before we all die a horrible extinctionWww@Enter-QA@Com

There are a finite number of note combinations, but given that every voice can be unique then I'd say yes, infinite, as a cover version is still a variation!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I have a feeling that time has already been and gone!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
