Why are you stuck in the 90s?!

Question: Why are you stuck in the 90s!?
So many people come on here and ask, "What happened to Hip Hop, why did it change!?" the hell do you mean why did it change!? Hip Hop has NEVER stayed consistent, if it was, we would still be listening to stuff like Planet Rock(afrikabam baa taa) or somethin lol!.!.!.Yall complain so much about how todays Hip Hop music(mainstream mostly) is wack and it doesnt touch the 90s, I say, oh well!! if you dont digg it then dont listen!.!.!.This being thrown at some of you "older heads" who cant seem to find your way out of the 90s or the 80sWww@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
"if you dont digg it then dont listen!." pretty much sums it up, most ppl just generally want somethin to b*tch about!. im sure you die-hard 90 fans did not like every artist or group you saw on tv, or heard on the radioWww@Enter-QA@Com

You got people who complain about it and then people who complain about the people complaining about it!. I say f that!. Everyone notices the shitty stuff coming out right now becasue it's way more than the shitty stuff that was out in the 90's!. Not to mention they getting paid a whole lot more!. Mainstream 90's was better to me!. So was mainstream 90's r&b but I listen to what I like and keep that **** moving!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I've never told anyone to stop enjoying today's music!. I've never wondered if "hip hop is dead!." There are plenty of artists that I enjoy today!. However, here is the difference between hip hop today and hip hop back then:

Back then the best hip hop and the most popular hip hop happened to be the same MUCH more often than today!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I can honestly say I am stuck in the 90's!. but I like alot of new stuff!. I'd just rather listen to screw(texas music)!. And unfortunatly D!.J!. Screw has passed(R!.I!.P) so I have to be stuck in the 90's to listen to what I really enjoy! But I do listen to current music!. Can't get old on ya'll boy's!!!!!Www@Enter-QA@Com

It just pisses us off that these new kids in hip hop arent doing anything to get what they have!. And then all they do after they get it is talk about it over and over!. No skill, yet so many people like it!. Its frustrating!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

yeah get your head right man, im 17 n even i can tell the difference between good music (90s) and "quick cash music" aka wack mainstream aka club musicWww@Enter-QA@Com

I totally agree with you!. Not all hip hop is bad these days, there is some good stuff!. Hip hop is NOT dead!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

haha yeah i agree!.

i just stopped listening to rap!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Im 16 and I mostly listen 90s sh tWww@Enter-QA@Com

lol what's funny about this question is you say this is thrown at some of you "older heads" yet a lot of the younger heads (16-21) are the ones who keep asking about Pac and Biggie and Wu-Tang etc!.!. How many times have you seen a quesiton on here where a 16 yr old is asking about old Wu-Tang stuff!?!? Or asking Illmatic!? Or asking about Rakim or what have you you!.!.!.!? They do it all the time on here and no one bats an eye!. Yet, let an older person ask about Wu-Tang and they get accused of livin in the past or being a "nostalgic!." And just take a look at the answers from some ppl on here!. You got TEENS sayin that they prefer 90's stuff!. Half these teen weren't even old enough in the 90's to appreciate it, yet they recognize that the music was in fact, better!. It's not about being stuck, it's about appreciating GOOD music!. And sorry, today's good music is far and few in between!. Die hard, avid fans of HH are pissed about the state of HH and righfully so!. Any way you wanna slice, the quality of today's mainstream is slipping year after year after year and has been for the last 10 yrs!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't digg it and i don't listen!.

I listened to the 80's movement, experienced the 90's when it peaked, and saw the new age unfold!.!.!.and 90% of todays hip hop (and associations of hip hop) is garbage!.

I'm not stuck no where; i've embraced new material from artists like Immortal Technique, Common, Mos Def ( the 10% of good stuff)!.!.!.!. But the best hip hop was in the 80's and 90's!. Sorry champ!.

The rap game is like the NBA in many ways; you got Kobe, but we had Mike, you say you got good defense now, but we could hand check and push!. There is no comparison!. You need to accept that the quality is not high like it once was!.

With that said!.!.!.I just believe that todays young guys in hip hop don't probably care as much about content, complexity, and meaning in what they write!. A tracks success is dependent on unit sales rather than good use of metaphors, and multisyllabic rhymes!.
Story telling is a skill, and 90% of rap today has nothing on the 80's and 90's in this regard!. Anybody with real knowledge on the subject would agree!.

I will give you one final word towards your argument though; production (beats) from the good producers has been on point all along!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Da f*ck is wrong with Planet Rock!?!?!?!?

See, this is a prime example of someone who has no clue about good hip hop music! Disrespecting a classic for starters, then defending this garbage thats out now! Us older heads are trying to tell you and others like you that support this crap thats coming out now, farther and farther away from hip hop you go until its something else! Then everyone's wondering "WHAT HAPPENED TO HIP HOP!?!?!?" Then the beautiful musical art form that folks made, has been ruined to do some wack azz artists and the d*ckriders that supported them! WHY DON'T YOU FIND YOUR WAY OUT OF THAT TOXIC CLOUD CALLED TODAY'S HIP HOP AND GET A CLEARER PICTURE OF WHAT IT SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE!!!!Www@Enter-QA@Com
