Question: What's the difference between Oldies and Classic Rock!?
Answers:
Oldies goes a little farther back than classic rock, pretty much everything considered 'oldies' are from the 50s and 60s, Bill Halley and the Comets type of diner music, you know!? Classic rock refers to hard rock from the 60s through the 80s such as Led Zeppelin!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It used to be that the oldies stations would play songs from the mid 50's to the mid 70's!. Over the last five years, the oldies have been playing songs from the 60's and 70's!. This is mostly top 40 hits from those two decades!.

Classic Rock stations would play music from the 60's through the 90's and sometimes into the 2000's with selections that are mostly rock artists!. Classic Rock would also play album cuts from the classic rock artists where the oldies would stick to the hits of the past that also may include classic rock artists!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

What we call classic rock are the songs that were hits on the old AOR Rock format of radio!. Psychedelic, early harder blues-edged stuff like Cream, then Santana and others!. Heavy doses of Aerosmith, Led Zep, Boston, Van Halen, Hendrix and AC/DC!. Mainly music from the late sixties through the late 80s that Top 40 woudn't touch!. Most of the hair-metal bands didn't make the classic rock cut,

Oldies were Top 40 hits, stretching back to the early days of rock and roll!. Nowadays, oldies are mostly 60s and 70s pop hits!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Oldies can really mean any kinda music thats old, maybe old as in 70s or could be as old as the 50s!.

Classic rock is just ROCK from like the same eras as i said, like 50s to 80s!. 80s rock really isnt classic in my opinion!. The best years for Classic Rock, to me, were the 60s, and 70s!. But i guess thats something thats argued about a lot!. But really, 80s was taken over by hair bands!. But whatever!.

it's getting to the point where there isn't one BUT!.!.!.oldies as i consider it is music from the 50's and earlier!.!.!.elvis, bobby darin, sinatra(maybe later but i still consider oldies,)stuff like that!. Classic rock is that which follows(minus the beatles)!. The stones, led zep, queen, etc!. Basically, i think it all boils down to whether or not they have a rockin' guitarist!. If the guitarist rocks it is ROCK lolWww@Enter-QA@Com

oldies i'd say would be stuff before the 50's which was when rock 'n roll started out!. you know, stuff like paul anka and that!.
