While I mostly agree with what people have said, you need to be careful in picking out a floating tremolo!. You want the best quality trem you can afford, because a cheap one won't stay in tune for more than a whammy or two!. While I like Ibanez, the guitars from them that I've demo'd have all exhibited a tendency to start going out of tune after two or three vibratos, even worse with a dive-bomb!.

I would further suggest that if you don't know how to setup and maintain a floating trem, and/or aren't willing to learn, then don't get one!. While they're not hard to figure out, the process of changing intonation and adjusting action and all that is time consuming!.

Congratulations on not liking EMGs!. Seymour Duncan has a few sets of active pickups that are much better reviewed than the EMGs, with less noise and better dynamic feel!. Try checking those out!.

Of course, I prefer passive pickups with a buffer circuit and/or preamp in the guitar itself!. I think it's the best compromise!.

Me, I've gone the route of buying a guitar with the intention of stripping it and customizing it!. In my case I'm sticking with the original fixed bridge hardware, most of my modifications are electronic, but the feeling is still there, especially if you want quality pickups!.

quibble: According to wikipedia (link below) it appears the correct usage would actually be "Guitarists A Question to Ye" or "Guitarists A Question to You" depending on whether you wanted archaic or modern terminology!.

Thy and thine are singular, as well, and so aren't correct in addressing plural parties!.
