Why is it dumb to listen to bands that sing in a language that you don't und!
Question: Why is it dumb to listen to bands that sing in a language that you don't understand!?
Anyone who knows me knows I don't agree with that (I listen to many bands that don't sing in English), but if you think it's stupid, why is that!? Do you think foreigners who don't speak English but listen to bands/singers who sing English are silly as well!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

In my opinion the English language is one of the most worst languages to sing in!. Same goes with Spanish!. It just doesn't flow the way I want them to!.
Most of the time when listening to music I concentrate on the overall feeling of the music!. Not just listen for the lyrics, guitar, drums, bass!.!.etc!. Therefore when it isn't in English I'm not drawn to the lyrics immediately!.
My favorite band is Icelandic!. Most of their songs are in Icelandic (1 in English) but they have also created their own language of Hopelandic!. I believe it to be genius!.

I listen to many bands that don't sing in English or completely in English, I can appreciate the vocal talent and the instrumentals in the song!.

English songs are popular in many non-English speaking countries; America's (and some of Europe, but mainly the US) media is pretty far spread through other places!.
It's less common to find English people listening to foreign songs, just because we have such a vast network of our own!.
I don't have any problem listening to foreign music!. My favorite artists are mostly English, but I like other bands, who speak anything from German to Taiwanese!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

its so not, its very ignorant for people to think that!. mainly english people (which i am english) are very lazy and can't be bothered with anything which they don't understand!. i don't think language should be a barrier to whats good and whats not!. i listen to a variety of music from stuff in english to french and Japanese!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

My brother made me listen to an Italian '70s prog!. band!. I liked it but it was strange!. What he said was that it's not about the lyrics, it's about the music which is totally true!.!. I also think foreigners have a better take on the world than Americans!. I hate the stereotype of the 'Stupid American'!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I dont think it's dumb!. I have a few friends who are totally into "J-pop" and "j-rock" (japanese pop and rock)!. I listen to german rock, and I partially understand the lyrics, so no I don't see why it's dumb!. if you like the music, then you like it, right!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Some people focus on the lyrics more then the instrumentals!. So for them, it doesn't make sense to listen to a band they can't understand!. For other people, the lyrics aren't that important!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I actually prefer bands that sing in another language, their music is just so amazing and mind blowing and just because I cant understand them, doesn't mean they are stupid and that they dont deserve to be listened to!. I mean there are so many great bands, like Rammstein, They are F*cking awesome and mind blowing!. I just love them more then any other band out there!. I dont care that I cant understand, they absolutely blow my mind!. They are so damn creative and just so cool!. They sing in German, and it is so amazing!. I am so lucky to have found them, and I am honored to be able to listen to them!. I just love to rock to them, and their videos are so cool!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's not!. I like Moonsorrow and they sing in Finnish I think!. I don't understand a word!.!.!.but the music is great!. I don't agree though that it's not about the lyrics, it's about the music!. That's not good!.!.!.I think the lyrics play a good deal in the music, I want to hear music that has meaning in their lyrics!.!.!.that's why I don't listen to alot of death metal bands because it's like, they don't mean what they are saying, I don't want to hear sillyness, I want to hear lyrics that can have meaning!. But in a different language, you can't understand them, and that's fine too!.!.!.!.as long as I got my music with English lyrics!. Because if you listen to music that you can't understand how are you supposed to ever relate!? A fine example is today I was playing a song on the piano, I was learning it and usually when I have a song down I can read the lyrics in the book while playing and not mess up and I can relate to the song while playing!. But today, I was sight reading a couple times (playing while seeing the music for the first time), and the music I found was very pretty and I don't know, it feels good!.!.there are lyrics, but I couldn't read them because then I would screw up the song, lol!. But the music itself was a good feeling though there were no lyrics for me to read and relate to!. Same thing is with you I guess, except that there are lyrics, you just can't understand them!.
