Music for road trip.?!

Question: Music for road trip!.!?
I am traveling the CA coast and want so great albums by American musicians pre 1990 to listen to!. This can be from any genre since the US invented the top four most popular styles of music in the world being rock n' roll, jazz, blues, "pop", reggae is fifth followed by Country another US creation!. I would really like albums by women if possible!.

A few suggestions already were

Carole King: Tapestry
Etta James: At Last
Duke Ellington
Aaron Copeland: Fanfare for the Common Man
Dolly Parton
Roy Orbison: Greatest Hits
Wanda Jackson: Greatest Hits
Huey Lewis: Sports
Weird Al

So anything pre 1990 that YOU would think sounds good for coastal driving!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Loretta Lynn's "Country Hall of Fame" CD is a great overview into her career, or her recent Grammy-winning "Van Lear Rose!."

And, if you're traveling in California, you must have some west coast country: Buck Owens, Wynn Stewart, Rose Maddox, Jean Shepard, Joe & Rose Lee Maphis, and Merle Haggard!.

BTW, Reggae needs to be removed from the list because it isn't American, it's Jamaican!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Steve Miller Band!!!
AND
Alabama

and if your looking for some jazz to wind down to give Julian "cannonball" Adderly a listenWww@Enter-QA@Com
