Which instrument is more important in a band?!
Question: Which instrument is more important in a band!?
A friend and I have been arguing about which instrument is more important (guitar or bass)!. I voted for guitar, but we never seem to agree and just keep arguing!. I do however, give credit to the bass, without it most songs would sound EXTREMELY CRAPPY!. But some songs sound good wihout a bass anyways!. And another thing, can you have a song without a guitar!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Okay, I'm in a band, I've played in Hollywood a number of times, and I've been a musician since I was 7!. Bass is my primary instrument, but I play guitar and piano, too!.
Neither is more important!. Really awesome bands (like rhcp) have bassists and guitarists that have an awesome chemistry with each other and can totally flow with each other!.!.!. and the music would be completely different if there wasn't one of those instruments!. No instrument is more important than any other!. It just depends on how you use it!. You can have an awesome guitar solo, but you need bass to back it up with melodies and grooves!. The guitar can be the "catchy" part of a song, but without the bass you can't "feel" it!.!.!. especially when it's live!. If you're playing straight out Rock, you should have a singer, drummer, bassist, and guitarist!. That's all you need, but you need all of those to be successful!.!.!. at least most of the time!. (The Doors didn't have a bassist)!. After you have the main foundation for a band you can stretch out and get other instruments or more guitars!. But take a band, and strip away the bass!.!.!. that band sucks now!. And vice versa with guitar!. A lot of it also depends on how good the musician is and how they can make it flow with whatever instrument they are using!. Without a doubt, bass and drums are the most essential instruments in a band as they lay the foundation of the song as the rhythm section!. They also do (or should do) most of the communicating!. If they don't communicate well, the band will most likely suck!.

Both of them play their part (no pun intended)!. Guitar is what leads it, bass is usually the backup!. A band is a band and that means that the instruments work together!. You can make a song with only a guitar and with only a bass if you're really good!. In my opinion, they're both equals!. The bass most definitely you screw up playing bass you screw up the whole song!. As far as music concered the guitar isn't even important, all it does is add on to the music, just like a piano, flute, saxaphone, should i keep going on!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
the guitar!. dont get me wrong the bass is important and does add life!. but you sing many songs and play them acoustically with a guitar alone!. they wont be as great but the guitar hands down!. you could always strum it or finger pick it!.

I love bass but I LOVE the guitar lol (especially if it's electric)!. To me they both go hand in hand with any band!.!.!. as far as having a song without a guitar, of course you can!.!.!.but if it's a rock song!.!.!.IT SHOULD BE A CRIME TO MAKE A SONG WITHOUT ONE! Lol
