Answers:
I care about it to the extent that it is usually associated with black and Latino people, as well as with young people (of all ethnicities) and I definitely care how we as people are perceived in society!. Usually the perception others have of you influences how they treat you!. I hate when we are treated as inferiors simply because of the culture (and yes, hip hop is a culture) we choose to identify with!. We are not all thugs!. We are not all unintelligent or uneducated!. We are not all poor, on welfare, or living in public housing!. We don't all sell drugs, steal cars, and rob convenience stores!. We don't all wear 2 feet of hairweave, and we don't all dress and dance like strippers!. I don't particularly care if another person simple doesn't like the music because there are people who absolutely love or absolutely despise each form of music!. What I don't appreciate are those occasions when a person makes incorrect assumptions about me based simply upon the music I like!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

If I know myself that it's so much more than most people give it credit for then that helps but it kinda pisses me off the way it is scapegoated and stereotyped by people who know next to nothing about it's history and all the good that's been done from it whilst they only look at the negatives!. Even I find it hard to outwardly let people know that I enjoy it because of the stigmatized viewpoint they may have regarding Hip Hop!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

no!.

i mean, i love it, and i dont have to explain it to anyone that questions is!. obviously, we see something in hip hop that no one else sees, thats their fault!.

u could say the same about rock music!. they like it, most of us hate it, obviously we dont see anything in rock music (pretty much cuz there's nothing to see, but lots of emo kids cutting their wrists), but whatever!.

thats their fault!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

no!. i care more about the young boys and girls who take hip-hop like it's a way to live their lives!. more young boys are seeing women as nothing more than objects and more girls are thinking the only way to get ahead in life is to find a bad-boy with money and whore around!. i see it a lot where i live!. they need to rememer that this is just music!.

thubs down for telling the truth!. people don't want real answers on hereWww@Enter-QA@Com

No not really!.
Whenever I met someone though, and exchange the question "Who do you listen to!?" I try to influence them with the good music!.

It amazes me how many kids listen to Lil Wayne in high school, but when I mention Rakim, nobody knows what the hell I'm talking about!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

To a certain extent!. It frustrates me when it is all generalized and stereotyped!. But people do that about all kinds of things and I know I can't change the perception of the world by myself so I try to not let it affect me all that much!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'll have to agree with "bkzbanginshawty" ,I just like the music at times ,Im not at all concerned with "hip hop" life!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Not really!. Hip-hop has always been perceived the wrong way!. You learn to ignore it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
