I've always been interested in learning how to play the guitar!. However, I'm a little strapped for cash and cannot afford to pay for an instructor or an expensive guitar!. Are there any books!. cd's, programs, etc!. that anyone used that worked out well!? What kind of guitar should I start out with!? I am a COMPLETE beginner to all things guitar!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I completely understand!. I've been playing guitar for 6 years now, and I've never had an instructor!. There are websites you can go to that will give you tips on playing guitar!. also, some sites can teach you how to play guitar by using "guitar tabs"!. Its helpful for people who don't know how to read music!. You can also buy used books at music stores or off amazon!.com!. Guitars themselves can be expensive, but you can get one for less money if that is used as well!. Hope this helps!Www@Enter-QA@Com

1) Go second hand, and try to take along someone who knows guitars so you don't get stuck with a complete lemon!.

2) If you like electric guitar music, buy an electric guitar from the start!. You don't even need an amp if you're just knocking round and learning, and there are things you can play easily on most electrics that are hard or impossible to do on an acoustic guitar!.

3) Use the internet, particularly YouTube to learn new techniques - there are many good quality, user-made videos explaining techniques!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

start with a new cheap guitar from ebay!.!.!.

recommend getting a steel string guitar with a steel truss!.!.!.

start with an acoustic/electric that way you can play acoustic and then later get an amp for it if you want to!.

if from a pawn shop make sure the neck is straight as possible!. make sure there is tension on the strings and then you can do this by putting your face to body of the guitar and looking up the neck!. if it looks twisted or pulled in any direction then look for another guitar

then go to youtube for some free lessons

if your interest goes away then you didn't spend a whole lot

if your interest increases, odds are your addiction will encourage more spending

no sense in spending a lot of money early in the gameWww@Enter-QA@Com

Like other posters have said, pawn shops or Wal-Mart are great ways to find cheap guitars!. You could also try criagslist!.org!. You might even be able to trade or barter some of your items for a guitar!.

As far as lessons, you might try looking into a local recreation or community center!. In the city that I live in you can pay $20 for an 8-week session for small-group guitar lessons at a recreation center!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't play, but I know that Wal-Mart has beginners guitars!. They are real guitars that really work and they only cost about $50!. They come with a DVD and a book, that is supposed to teach you how to play!.

I would get something cheap like that to start off, to make sure that you really have a passion for it!. If you find that you do, save for something more expensive!.

Good luck!Www@Enter-QA@Com
