you can use whatever effects you want, its a matter of your creativity!. But professional equipment will make the difference!. From there you just have to meld and shape the song to make it flow smooth, so the song won't be choppy and everywhere!. You are focusing on R&B so i'll guess you know how to weave your voice with the music to make th voice compliment the song and make it smooth!. also make the effects you use compliment each other, so the song won't be everywhere!.
