Is there a band out there better than Tool?!
Question: Is there a band out there better than Tool!?
im a long time fan of Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, Slayer, System Of A Down, but ive never had enough of listening to Tool, but have been tired of the other bands!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

There aren't many bands out there that I would consider to be better than Tool as far as looking at the whole picture!. There are tons of bands that are technically more proficient but when it comes down to pure music!.!.!.Tool must be considered as one of the greatest!. They have a very unique sound and are amazing songwriters!. Maynard is regarded as one of the best male vocalists in rock, he has an amazing singing voice and can yell with the best of 'em!

honestly, there are quite a few bands better than Tool!. Tool get a lot of praise for the technical expertise of the members!. A lot of it is justified as the bassist and drummer are really good!. But i find nothing special about the guitarist other than his ability to write some good songs and riffs!. But he aint no shredder!. Maynard's voice is a matter of opinion really!. i am not a big fan!. Tool is also awfully longwinded for the sake of being longwinded!. They dont play that many solos for a band that makes such long songs!. They are very good but not even close to the best really!. Better bands!? Here goes:

I guess it depends on what you like!.
I respect the heck out of TOOL, and really love some of their songs, but to me, way too many of their tracks are overlong and monotonous!.
They probably don't crack my top 20 list personally!. (Not trying to bash!.!.!. a lot of folks love TOOL after all, and Justin Chancellor IS one of my favorite Bass Players)
But, for me, I would rather listen to Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Sepultura, Iced Earth, Nightwish, Epica, Bolt Thrower, Metallica, Made of Hate, Sevendust, and quite a few other bands than TOOL!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

According to my husband, there is only one band better than Tool and that's Pink Floyd!.
He likes all those other bands you talk about too except for Judas Priest and System of a Down!.
