Is just downloading music off Lime Wire illegal? Even if I won't share it?!

Question: Is just downloading music off Lime Wire illegal!? Even if I won't share it!?
I don't use Lime Wire yet, but I have been thinking about downloading it!. Is it illegal JUST to get music, even if I don't share it!?

I don't want to do anything illegal!.

I'm just tired of spending so much money on iTunes!. I've spent over $500 on music in the last three months!.

I'm sure you can see, I love music!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Of course it is!. But Limewire is a peer to peer sharing, so its just like sharing music with your friend!.
I don't believe in the laws set in place to "protect" the artists anyway!. Its not protecting the artists, its protecting the greedy record companies, whom make nearly all the profit from music sales anyway!. The artists are getting a very small fraction of the money created from sales like ITunes and the laws are in place not to help the musicians, but their record companies!. The groups themselves are making all their money off of concert ticket sales and merchandise!.
I think people should have unlimited access to music, because it helps the musicians get their name out!.

And I am a musician myself, so don't think I am just in it to finagle my way out of paying!.
Limewire should be used to help you find groups you like without the input and bias of radio stations and the media!. It is very useful for helping you decide what you like, but not necessarily whole albums!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

yes!. In most places it's illegal (and in most other places the word is still out on it)!.
And even if not, those who share that music are doing something illegal, which IMO makes you guilty of posessing stolen property!.

Those who put up music on the Pirate 2 Pirate networks are stealing!.
That makes those who download that music guilty as well (especially since they can know it's stolen goods they're downloading)!.

Of course there is SOME content on those networks that's free for distribution, but it's a very tiny fraction (and most of that you could have gotten from artist websites as well)!.

If you really love the music, support those who make it by paying for it!.
You do that best by buying from small record companies or directly from artist websites (and then mainly artists who are not signed up by the big labels)!.
The larger the company, the smaller the cut the artist gets (more overhead!.!.!.) but they always get something!.
If professionals don't get paid, they go looking for other jobs!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
