Teaching myself the piano and need help with this A-G stuff?!

Question: Teaching myself the piano and need help with this A-G stuff!?
i want to label my piano!. A-G because i feel that it will help me learn the piano better!.

BTW: i'm teaching myself!.

anyway, my piano starts off with a "C" and then the black key has a "C#" and so on!.

so do a start my labeling from c and then so on!.
C, D, E, F, G, A, etc with the white keys!.
and what does "C#" mean!. it's on the first black key!.

or the last black key!. idk!. it's on the deep side!.
and then the next black key has "E" and then a small "b" on top!. if you know the piano then you must know what i'm talking about!.

what do those mean and what do you call the black keys!?!?
are they call Flats or somthing!. like "B flat" !?

i'm sorry for all these question!. it's just that i want to learn the piano so i'm teaching myself!.

anyway, if you have any other advice on learning how to play the piano, that would be very helpfull

Answers:
The white key to the left of each set of two black keys is "C"!. The order of the white keys starting from "C" is:

C, D, E, F, G, A, and B

Adjacent to the white keys are the black keys, which are the flats and sharps!. When a note is flatted, its pitch is lowered from the previous note!. When a note is sharped its pitch is raised from the previous one!. Each black key may be labeled as "sharp" and/or "flat"

For example: The black key RAISED from "C" is "C#"!. The black key LOWERED from D is "Db"!. C# and Db are "enharmonic" notes, meaning they have the same sound but may be named differently (depending on certain factors)!.

The order of each set of TWO black keys starting is: C#/Db, and D#/Eb

The order of each set of THREE black keys is: "F#/Gb, G#/Ab, and A#/Bb!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think you shouldn't play thatWww@Enter-QA@Com

Black keys are either sharps or flats, depending on key signature!.

Here's a good way to learn the notes!. Look for the group of two black keys together (just two, not three), and go down to the white key directing preceding the first black key of the group!. That note is C!. The white keys will then go in this order: C-D-E-F-G-A-B-C!.

Now if you go to the first black key in the group of two, that note is either C-sharp OR D-flat!. Sharps ascend from the principal note, and flats descend!. Therefore, it is what we call a "half-step" UP from C, making it C-sharp, and a half-step DOWN from D, making it D-flat!.

The sharp sign in printed music looks like #, and the flat sign looks something like a "b!."

If you're teaching yourself, you might try picking up a beginner's level book to learn how to read music and some of the necessary musical terms!. You'll probably go through it rather quickly!.

Good luck!Www@Enter-QA@Com
