Question: Help!!!!!!!! please help me answer this question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10 points to the best answer!!?
ok, so i need help on planning and finding some good, hard, famous piano pieces that might be able to help me win some big or international competitions!. So in order to do that, i need help on finding some pieces!. I would preferably like pieces by Beethoven, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Schumann or Schubert, Tckaikofsky, Saint-Saens, Mendellsoln, etc!.
Remember, i would like some big pieces that would be fun to learn, yet good enough to win competitions!.
So, please list some pieces by either all or some of the composers listed above and I would greatly appreciate it!.
NOTE: I'M GIVING THE PERSON WHO COULD LIST THE MOST PIANO PIECES BY ALL OF THE COMPOSERS ABOVE 10 POINTS!. also, PLEASE DO NOT JUST GO ON TO SOME WEBSITE AND COPY ALL THE COMPOSISTIONS OF A COMPOSER, PLEASE LIST PIECES IN WHICH YOU THINK MIGHT BE THE MOST ENJOYABLE AND COULD HELP E WIN SOME BIG, MAJOR, INTERNATIONS LGOMPETITIONS!.
ANYONE WHO WOULD BE ABLE TO DO THAT, 10 POINTS WILL BE AWARDED TO THAT PERSON!. THANKS A LOT!Www@Enter-QA@Com

As a former participant in International Competitions and now currently a judge, my colleagues and i are never impressed by those who walk in believing that they will win a piece based on showmanship and flash!. Big pieces!? Well there are so many however just because you play a big piece it doesn't give you a place as a laureate!.

You rifrst thing would be to learn how to spell Mendelssohn, not Mendellsoln or Tchaikovsky - not Tckaikofsky!.!.!. second you need to spend years developing repertoire!. From reading your questions it looks like you don't have an honest idea of what these competitions are like and what the level of playing is!. No piece will help you win a competition! I hope you know that!.!.!.!.

You could play Liszt b minor Sonata, Brahms f minor Sonata, Ravel La Valse and Gaspard - those pieces won't help you win!.!.!.!.

What puts you in the finals is exceptional technical facility with even better musicianship skills!. We do not care how fast you play, we care about how you shape the phrase!. We care about what you bring to the music - because we have heard the pieces all before!. In fact we have performed many of the pieces, taught them and hear them every time we are on a panel!. So what are you going to bring to the stage!? That is what we want to hear!.

"Remember, i would like some big pieces that would be fun to learn, yet good enough to win competitions!. "

!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Good enough to win competitions!?!?!? what!? do you think its the piece!?

If you do not have a big repertoire and experience performing those pieces in public (competitions, concerts and/or master classes) then you are far from being at the level of competition pianist!. I have a friend who placed 2nd at Santander in Spain, was awarded the Most Promising Artist award at Cliburn, recent laureate of the Concours de musique Montreal and many other recognitions - well he has been using the same repertoire for almost every competition!. His program includes Bach, Mozart, Ravel, Rachmaninoff, Ligetti, Chopin, Granados and Albeniz!. But its not the music he has chosen as it is his musicianship skills that has lead him to such success!.

From your questions, it seems like you have a long way to go and the need to understand what it takes to do well in these things!. This is something you need to work and discuss with your teacher!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Get a life and stop deluding yourself!! If you are unaware of the major piano repetoire then you are not even close to being good enough to be able to compete at an international level!. You should be studying with a top class teacher (who will assist you in selecting repetoire!.!.!.if they are not giving you 'competition' repeptoire it is because they feel you are unable to cope with it yet) and spend hours and hours each day practicing!.
I get sick and tired of people who seem to think that being a good musician is easy and that anyone can do it!. It takes years of good teaching and very hard work and even then you are not assured of success!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Any beethoven sonata, but preferraby:
Piano Sonata No!. 8 in C minor!.
Piano Sonata No!. 14 in C# minor (3rd movement would be SO impressive)
and
Piano Sonata no!. 21 in C major (my personal favorite)

By Liszt:
Campanella (it means little bell or something like that)
Liszt was an EXTREMELY cocky piano player, so alot of the stuff he wrote will be very impressive!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Rachmaninoff's piano concerto 2 in c minor
Rachmaninoff's piano concerto 3 in d minor
Tchaikovsky's piano concerto 1
Beethoven's 5th!!!!

basically concertos sound impressive!Www@Enter-QA@Com
