Question: When you sing do people hear the voice you hear in your head!?!?
ok one day i was singing to this song and i thougth i sounded pretty good i could even hit notes and everyting so i asked my brother and he said it wasnt very good so i recorded my voice and i sounded kinda weird but when i sing it sounds very good in my head!.!.!.then again he is my little brother who doesnt know alot but i have a singing audition coming up and i dont want to look like a fool thinking i can sing HELP!!!Www@Enter-QA@Com

it has to do with the way we are built!. We hear sound in two ways: the reflection of the sound waves that travel through the air are collected by our ears, and funneled through, where the nerves code these signals and send them on to the brain for recognition!. The second way is through the bone conduction of our skulls!. This has been the way the most hearing aids work- amplifying the strength of the waves and sending them through the skull ( to be processed by the nerves and sent on to the brain, etc!.)
So what you hear in your head is your own private noise!. No one hears it but you!. That's why we all get so weirded out the first time we hear ourselves on recordings!. EEUUW
Singers learn to feel th sounds they are generating in various other parts of their bodies, paying attention to how the vibrations feel rather than how they sound!. That way we get a real feel for how well we are producing the sound!. When we get used to learning our voice this way, we can go back and re-train our hearing perception, so that we can filter out the "private" sound from the public one!.
You can also enhance and accelrate your learning curve if you constantly record yourself w hile singing!. That way, you can hear pretty immediately if the sound you make equals the physical sensations!. Once you know what signals in your body equal good sound, you'll be able to start letting go of all the bad sounds ( = bad singing habits!. F'rinstance, straining in your throat, not breathing properly, having a tight jaw, tense tongue, )
Ultimately, we train the outside sound!. the inside one is for you and God!. Not even your eventual partner will be able to hear it!.!.!.

haha!.!.!. not even close!. I sound great inside my head, but I've recorded my (terrible) voice and played it back - I can't sing at all!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
