What is the highest caliber piano for a pianist? I was thinking Steinway and Son!

Question: What is the highest caliber piano for a pianist!? I was thinking Steinway and Sons or Kawai!?
Answers:
You cannot take the opinion of a bunch of people when it comes to buying a piano!. It is important for you to try out as many pianos as possible and find the one you like!.

Someone said their cousin or brother's Steinway B wasn't great!. So!?!?!?!? my Steinway B is awesome and I tried 3 brand new B's yesterday where 2 were awesome and the 3rd was ho hum!.!.!.!.

And someone gave a list of people who own Bosendorfer's!.!.!. So What! Have you seen the list of Steinway Artists!? Just because one person endorses it doesn't mean you will enjoy it!.!. plus every piano no matter the builder is an individual character!.

Some suggested Fazioli and Bossendorfer - sure, if I had all the money in the world I would consider buying one but if you are like me and have an honest salary, those pianos are out of the world and not worth it!.

Every piano is different!. I have two grands, a Steinway B and a special edition Kawai RX-7 which I hand picked out of their factory in Japan!. I had tried out so many instruments before I settled on these ones!. I tried the high end SG series of Yamaha, many Kawai's and Steinways and in the end I have what I have because I liked the instrument!. Sure the make was important as I only spent time with builders whom I knew made a good instrument but there were many duds that I tried!.

You have to go and see for yourself!. If someone says buy steinway and you don't do your due diligence then thats ridiculous!.

Kawai and Steinway have the been the instrument of choice for international concert winners and performers for the bast 10 years or so!. Esther Honens Competition in 2009 will only have those two makers present at the competition!. Santander in Spain only has Kawai and Steinway for its competition!.!.!.!. but again it is up to the individual pianist to make the decision on what piano to perform on or in your case practice!.

I am good friends with many Steinway Technicians and they say that for the value Kawai's RX series is the best and for a little more money Steinway is where to go!. They consider Yamaha to be okay instruments but they do have some gems every so often!. again, they stated what I'm saying - every piano has its own soul and you have to try them all out to see which one is best for you!.

Fazioli and Bosendorfer are not worth the money - I have never played a Fazioli but I did play a Bosendorfer and I didn't enjoy it!.!.!. I played a bunch of Yamaha's that I liked and many that I didn't!. There was one Yamaha in Paris I performed on and wanted to buy it from the concert hall but they said no!.!.!. And recently I have been examining students for the Royal Conservatory of Music on a brand new Steinway D that sounded like gold - however the $170 000 price tag prevents me from bringing it home!.!.!. at the same time one of my teacher's Steinway D's is the ugliest instrument I ever played!.!.!.!. so all you can do is try as many as you can!.

Some times its Yamaha or a Kawai or a Steinway!.!.!. all of them have great instruments and just as many junkers along the way!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It varies a lot as Steinways, Boesendorfers and higher end Yamahas and Kawais are hand made, or at least hand finished, so each is unique!. At a piano competition in Tokyo, there were 4 brands: Steinway (I think it was a New Yorker, not a Hamburger), Fazioli, Yamaha and Kawai!. There may have been a Boesie, too!. The piano most competitors chose (including me), was the Kawai EX!. It had great sound, gloriously even and very responsive!. The winner, however, played on the Yamaha!. The Steinway actually wasn't that good (probably chosen that way on purpose so more competitors would choose the Japanese pianos) and the Fazioli was 3rd choice, I think!.
I've played on some lousy Steinways and some terrific ones!. I love Bosies for chamber music, but my favorite is my 32 year old Kawai, a gift from my parents!. Japanese pianos usually go very tinny (esp!. on top) over time, but this one continues to be faithful in every way!. You really have to play each one!. A teacher friend had saved up for years to get a Steinway Model B and it turned out to be a lemon, big time!. A large dud with a dead bass and dull treble!. No matter what was done to the poor thing, it just wouldn't sing!. Two of my brothers also have Steinways and I'm not impressed with either!. Best ones I've found are in Europe!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

definitely Steinway, they have many sub companies and three different factory locations!. they have Boston, and Steinway and Sons and different brands!. Most of Most concert halls have Steinway pianos

there are many other Steinways that have been painted by artists that are on display at the metropolitan!. these pianos are not usually played though!.

kawai cannot compare!.

if you want the HIGHEST ever there is this brand called Fazioli they can reach almost $200,000

http://www!.fazioli!.com/eng/collezione_ar!.!.!.

their pianos only are available for a handful of artists the others that have been sold are usually on display!.
this would be in fact the world's most expensive piano!. as for it's sound it is beautiful!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Everyone has their preference for pianos and I wouldn't know which is the best but here is a long list of people who have owned a Boesendorfer, or still do:

That speaks for itself, don't you think!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yeah I would go with Steinway and Sons!. But the thing to do is go to a piano shop and play a bunch of different pianos!. Each one has a different sound!. This will help you determine what kind of tone you are looking for!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i prefer kawai!. i love the touching of the kawai piano!.!.!.actually depends on you!.!.!.try the pianos, and buy the piano that suit you!.!.!.good luckWww@Enter-QA@Com
