I'm also working towards becoming a concert pianist!.
The fame I suppose is found through promotion, playing at venues, and yes, winning competitions!. If you wanted to play at Carnegie Hall, the only way you're gonna be able to is if you're like, world-class!.
3 Hours is nowhere near enough to become a professional, I've been told 6 hours a day is the bare minimum, with 10 being the reccomended amount!.
As for pieces, try Beethoven's Pathetique, Liszt's Etudes De Paginini or Etudes d'Execution Transcendante, Rachmaninoff's 2nd and 3rd Concertos, and perhaps some Alkan, his Etude Allegro Barbaro, Op!.35 No!.5!.

I hope I've been of help :)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I practice about an hour a day, but I just play for fun and because I love music, if you're wanting fame then I would get a really good teacher, practice at least 3 hours a day, enter every competition/concert/recital you can find, and you're gonna need a lot of luck!. It's not always about how difficult the piece that you're playing is, it's more about how good it sounds/keeping the audience's attention!. Sometimes the best music is the simplest and most pleasing to the ear!. I wouldn't say winning competitions makes you famous, I'd say being famous is if people will recognize your playing style or your music, but that's just my opinion; however, competitions will get you recognized in the piano world!.
For pieces to play I can't really help you much because I only really play modern stuff like muse and some other stuff!. But personally, I'd rather hear music that I find entertaining and captivating instead of music thats recognizable!.
Last piece of advice, have fun!. If you're not having fun, it's not even worth it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

before you want to be a famous pianist, you must be good in handling the piano!. the technique, expression, rhythm, memory work!.!.!.!.every single thing you must handle it well!. thus you must practice, practice and practice!. frankly speaking, 1 or 2 or 3 hours practice per day is too little even for a grade 6 pianists!.!.!.so you have to practice more!.!.!.yundi lee, the young talented pianists in china, practice piano at least 6 hours per day!.i have a suggestion, you join the warsaw chopin competiton--the most prestigious piano award!.!.!.if you win, for sure you will become famous!.haha!.!.good luck!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'm studying to become a professional violinist!. It's all about networking, motivation, creativity, and hard work!. Like you said- if you want to play at Carnegie Hall, you have to make yourself known to the important people out there!. You gotta win some serious competitions, play some good concerts with orchestras, and broadcast yourself on the radio (try www!.fromthetop!.org)!. It never matters how much you practice, but how well you concentrate while you practice!. Let's say you practice for two hours- you gotta plan those two hours out and not waste any time at all!. For me, I'd suggest at least 3-4 hours a day!. You need to learn how to make time for yourself!. If you're busy all day, just stay up late and practice at night, or wake up early in the morning to practice!. You need to go to music festivals and camps over the summer to meet important musicians and introduce yourself to them!. Summer music festivals are a great way to network yourself and put yourself out there!. Your music needs to be personal and have all your heart into it- if you play like everyone else, there is no way you're going to make it!. There needs to be your own language, creativity, and magic in all the music you make!. The uniqueness of your playing will get your level up to be higher and higher!.
For pianists, any Chopin, Beethoven, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff pieces are important, so start slowly and make your way through them!. Play some Chopin Polonaises and I really recommend concertos by these composers: Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, and Saint Saens!. Don't worry about getting famous!.!. just work hard and you'll get there!. Best of luck to you!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
