Which Nightwish vocalist do you like more?!

Question: Which Nightwish vocalist do you like more!?
Answers:
Overall, I prefer Tarja!. I just like the way she sings and the sound of her voice better!.

Of course, considering that there are 6 albums with Tarja and only 1 with Anette, I'm pretty biased!. xD

I love songs like "Wishmaster", "Deep Silent Complete", "Ever Dream", and especially that "Phantom of the Opera" cover (etc!.)

However I think Anette does a good job with "TPaTP", "Amaranth", and "Eva", etc!. I love when she backs Marco's singing, like in "The Islander"!. Tarja always drowned him out!. I'm looking forward to future albums!.

My vote = Tarja TurunenWww@Enter-QA@Com

I would go with Tarja!. I just think her range and pitch control can't be matched by Anette!.

Although!.!.!.!.!.
Peaches is on target!.

I've heard "Amaranth" and Anette sounds great on that song, but there's a live clip from about a year ago, maybe a minute in length, and Anette is singing "Sleeping Sun" - flat!.

The available interviews & articles about the band, and the subtly illuminating 50-minute documentary on the 'End of an Era' DVD, suggest the band frustrations and the things that bothered Tarja were coming to a head!.
They were going in different directions!. Not artistically, but the way they preferred to operate!. The band, of course, must be relieved to have a vocalist who's more 'on board' with the group's direction and goals, and Tarja is free to pursue her goals on her terms!. Very much a win-win situation, to my way of thinking, for listeners!.

I still have to get the Dark Passion Play CD, but I think for now I will focus on the band's discs with Tarja and assimilate that part of the band's history, then bring myself up to the present with Anette's contributions!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I am not a fan really, even though I will admit that they are very talented!. there is one song I kind of like I guess, "Amaranth"
so the woman that sings on that song is amazing!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I am a fan of both!.

Both have their own unique ranges, and sing songs that the other could not!.

Anette has a very nice voice, but her pop influence is obvious by her style (and thae fact the psycho little chipmunk can't stop smiling)!.

It is true, she cannot sing high enough to do songs lIke " The Phantom of the Opera" or "Walking on Air", but she sounds great on Amaranth, and Bye Bye Beautiful!. And Eva is just gorgeous!. I also enjoy her backing Marco on the Islander!.

BUT!.!.!.!.!.

Tarja IS oneof theose once in a lifetime voices!. She was a treasure, and obviously Tuomas' muse!. Her operatic range gave Nightwish a sound far above other Symph Bands (only Epica really comes close)!.

Nemo, the Phantom, PlanetHell!.!.!.etc!. AMAZING!.

BUt!.!.her strentgh was also her weakness!. Her voice sounded strained and pained in songs like White Night Fantasy, or even Dark Chest of Wonders, because, she was not able to sing LOW enough!.

So!.!.!. we see areas where each can outperform the other!.

Still and all!.!.!.!.in the end I will stick with Tarja as my fist choice, since she helped give us MANY albums!.

That being said!.!.I eagerly look forward to seeing Nightwish in October, and hearing Anette live!.

I think it was wise of Tuomas to get a totally different type of singer!.!.!.because even someone like Simone Simons wouuld have just been a Tarja lite!.

Anette is free to make her own place!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i really like both but i prefer Tarja, her voice is so beautiful, Anette is not bad!.
I like the band before and after Tarja, is one of my favorite!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Gotta go with Annette, Her personality seems much better for everyone!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Depends!.!.I like them both!. There are just some songs Anette does better and some Tarja does better!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
