Music cents and tuning a guitar?!

Question: Music cents and tuning a guitar!?
A got a guitar tuning program that I found on the internet!. U plug a mic in ur computer and u pluck ur guitar and it tells you how far apart u are from the next note by music cents!. it always says minus X about of cents!. how close should i get to 0 before i stop turning my pegheads!? i know cents are vibrations of musical notes and the vibrations are how far apart the note is to the next note on the music scale and that most ppl can notice a 5-6 cents difference (from a wikipedia search) !. So that means ppl will be able to notice like say a 25 cent difference and know that my first string is slightly out of tune!? And will it affect how well i play song and have it sound the way its supposed to!?
I'm playing on an acoustic if that makes any difference vs an electric!. but i would also like to know the answer on an electric as im hoping to get one of those soon too!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Going from the range you mentioned, you want to hit the 0 if you can!. Reaching zero would mean no deviation from a perfect note!. However if for some reason you can't get a string within about 2 to 3 cents of 0, try and match the other strings to that variance so that they're all ever-so-slightly out of tune!. The human ear may have a hard time telling that an E is a few cents off, but it's more noticeable when other strings are sounding out perfectly!.

That said, tuning and such is the same regardless of electric or acoustic!. And if you have your guitar tuned 25 cents off, it would only be noticeable if you had another instrument or your voice that is sounding out perfect notes!. If the other instruments or your voice match the guitar's 25 cent deviation then it will sound perfect!. In fact some musicians have released studio songs with instruments tuned 50 cents off of the original note!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
