Transition of Hip Hop??!

Question: Transition of Hip Hop!?!?
Some friends and I were talking about this!. I am not trying to start the whole what is real hip hop or hip hop is dead debate!. But what changed in hip hop really!?

We came up with all the name brand clothes talk and money talk!. Back in the days rappers were hot when you could relate to what they were saying!. I guess when hip hop became more famous was the start of its change from street/conscious type rap to lolly pop stuff!. We always had the dance rap!. (ie: Humpty Dance) Maybe it is because I've grown up but didn't seem like we had the mind numbing rap I see nowadays!.

also I can't really claim I'm a hip hop head!.!.!.I only listen to instrumentals!. Or rappers I feel say something worth listening to!. Or if I am tortured by listening to the radio!. Usually the radio songs aren't the meat of the artist , the other songs on their CD are!. It just seems the radio songs back in the day had more substance!.!.!.!.when I say back in the day i'm only talking 1990-1998!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Frankly, it just became popular and rap meant money, big money, which made the record companies smell profit and quick sales rather than actual talent!.

I hate to say it, but Biggie was heading down a bad road!. I don't think he had much good music left in him before he would have become totally 'popular,' due to Puffy's influence!.

also, production changed!. It's thick now, listen to the 'big' producers, who really are quite talentless, and you'll see the production is simple but very loud and it crowds out the artist!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
