Question: Are there ways to become a decent singer if u can't sing!?
like u know how singers do weird noises & stuff to help them
can i do that & will it help me!?!?
cuz i'm working on starting a band, i'm one of the guitarists & for some reason my future band mates want me 2 sing backup also, but i'm not very good!.!.!.like whispering singing i can do lol
but i can't project my voice without it sounding sucky
& i really love singing!.!.i just suck :(
so i waz wondering if their are excercises that can help strengthen my vocal cords so i can atleast do back up vocals
or do u just have 2 be born with the gift!?

everyone can sing!.
you have your own voice!. you may not sound like other singers, but if you're writng the music, you can place it in your range and comfort zone!. just play around with your voice!.

If you want to sing "for real", then yes, sorry, it generally won't work if you aren't endowed with "the gift"!. Singing isn't really something you can teach or learn!. Techniques can be taught, but the underlying voice and talent have to preexist or the techniques won't do a thing!. It's like trying to put gloves on a man with no hands!.
But the good news is that not all singers really have to "sing"!. Rob Zombie never sang a day in his life before he got the idea to form White Zombie, and look how successful he's been!. Because he's not really singing, just talking funny, and it works!
Death metal growlers - no singing there either, and they're rolling in the dough!.
Trent Reznor - terrible singer, but his instrumentation and equipment pull him through!.!.!.
