They are both just absolutely incredible!. i lean byrne, i am constantly impressed by the artistic range of all his projects, he is deffinately the better producer of the two, the talking heads are great, the solo stuff has its moments, but to me, it is side projects like the susanna baca and marc ribot albums he did that push him over the top for me!. both are legends to be sure!. plus, remember sessions at west 54th!? that show was great!.

I must say this is one of the best and most difficult of these questions I've seen!.
David Bowie has reinvented himself so many times, never staying in the same place!. That is what has made him a legend!. On the other hand, the same can be said of David Byrne!. Talking Heads started in the punk era, but "Fear of Music" has more African influence than Paul Simon ever DREAMED of on "Graceland," and if you can't dance to the "Speaking in Tongues" album, call an undertaker because you're dead!.
Both men write outstanding lyrics (Bowie: "Do you remember your President Nixon!? Do you remember the bills you have to pay!? Or even yesterday!?" Byrne: "They grow it in the farmlands, then they bring it to the stores, they put it in their car trunks, then they bring it back home, and I say I wouldn't live there if you paid me")!. Both men have -- well, quirky voices!. Both men have acted!. Both men are deservedly in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!. And there are two songs from each ("Young Americans" and "Modern Love" from Bowie; "Take Me to the River" [which granted, Byrne didn't write] and "Wild Wild Life" from the Heads) on my 100 favorites list!.

Love Bowie when he has colobrated with Jagger and Queen and I dont care if its a pop tune of his but Modern Love came out when I dated this chick and we use to sing it in the car and brings back great memories:)

Bowie!. Has had hits in the 60's through 90's!. Talking Heads was pretty much confined to the 80's!. Byrne did good stuff with Bryan Eno (My Life In the Bush of Ghosts), but still gotta go with Bowie on this one!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
