Question: Metal fans: I need your help!?
I like some metal music, it just depends on what it is!. Anyway, what is the difference between Death Metal, Doom Metal, Sludge Metal, Speed Metal, Power Metal, and Metalcore!? What is the purpose of all the sub-genres!? Specific songs or bands would also help!. Thank you!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Death - The most "brutal"!. Has "Death Growls"!. Gorey lyrical themes, brutal drum riffs!. I love blast beats! (though sometimes death metal is a bit irritating) Try Cannibal Corpse, Hate Eternal, Suffocation, Morbid Angel and Death!.
Doom - Low, growled vocals, slow, heavy!. Try Katatonia, Anathema, November's Doom and My Dying Bride!.
Sludge - Kinda similar to stoner metal!. Average tempo!. Try Kyuss, Orange Goblin, Electric Wizard and Cathedral!. Try some Mastodon too!.
Speed - Much like thrash but faster!. Try bands like Judas Priest, Queen, etc!.
Power - High pitched voice, symphony-esque, clean vocals, lyrical theme are about fantasies and fictions and myths stuff!. Growls are very rare!. Try Blind Guardian, Helloween, Sonata Arctica, Hammerfall and Rhapsody of Fire
Metalcore - Heavier than hardcore punk or more like "pumped-up hardcore"!. Vocals are mix of screams and clean!. Try Between the Buried and Me!.

You forgot thrash metal, NWOBHM, and Classic metal!. Death metal is sceamish and heavy!. Speed metal is the fastest metal!. Power metal is heavy but not super heavy, and you can just always tell when something is power metal!. Metalcore is not technically metal but it's very heavy rock with metal influence!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
