Bob Dylan has great lyrics and was a true poet & also had a sense of humour but also had a tenderness when he sang about love

also love Tupac's words as he wrote from the heart, if you ever listen to the song "Dear Mama" brings tears to my eyes as so sad and heartfelt!.
Van Morrison also is a great writer&used to listen to him before so much!.

Although i could just reel off the usuals (Lennon/McCartney, Jagger/Richards, Brian Wilson et al), my all time favourite is Morrissey/Marr!. The Smiths were the soundtrack to my teenage years!.
