Guitar strings causing the problem?!

Question: Guitar strings causing the problem!?
I have an acoustic guitar but when I play some hammer ons they are barely noticeable!. :/ It's as if the strings are tight!. I also cannot make out a vibrato :/ I do press hard on the strings but still, you can barely hear it!. :/ Are the strings the problem!? Or maybe it's the guitar!? Me!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
What kind of guitar do you have!?

Your problem seems to be that your action is too high; take it to any music repair center and tell them you'd like to lower the action!. It's a simple, easy thing!.

Having your action too high brings the strings farther from the neck, which makes them harder to play!.

also, try getting lighter-gauge strings, and making sure your guitar isn't tuned up high enough to put too much tension on the strings!.

That, and like mentioned before, acoustic guitars aren't the best for doing hammer-ons on, or vibratos!. It takes a lot more finger strength to do hammer-ons/vibratos on an electric!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

As a previous answerer pointed out hammer ons and vibrato are easier on an electric guitar but more because the gauge of the strings is smaller!. Try using a lighter weight set of strings on your instrument and see if that doesn't help out!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

hammer ons are best done on electric guitars!.!.!.
because they can pick up the sound the best!.!.!.
so acoustic guitars just don't cut it!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

are the strings to high from the neck!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
