Can I learn Perfect Pitch (absolute pitch), or do I have to be born with it?!

Question: Can I learn Perfect Pitch (absolute pitch), or do I have to be born with it!?
I've heard many opinions - but does anybody know for sure!?
Is there any research on this!?
I really want to have Perfect Pitch, but don't want to waste my time and money if it would just be a wild goose chase!.
Thanks!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Newsflash: You CAN learn it!.
There probably is a gene (or group of genes) that controls perfect pitch, but they only provide the proclivity for it!. It's like muscle building, in a way: some people rarely exercise and are very athletic, while others have to work hard for the same results - but most everyone can do it!.
Same thing with perfect pitch: some people are born with it, others have to work for it!.

But!.!.!. how do you learn it!? what should you do to "exercise your ear"!? And which ear training exercises are effective!?
Most perfect ear courses are pretty vague, trying to teach you to see "the color of the note you hear" or such, which can be a hassle!. However, some new courses harness Relative Pitch which can be mastered relatively easily (no pun intended), and use it to enable perfect pitch!.

If you want to go deeper - there's an interesting discussion on this at http://www!.reviewsnest!.com/perfectpitch !.
I must say that I didn't try any any of these perfect pitch courses yet - but I do plan on doing so!. I previously bought a singing lessons course based on this site's reviews, and their review of it was really spot-on, so I really trust them!. But again - I didn't try the perfect pitch courses yet!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

My piano teacher says that you canteach tone deaf people how to hear pitch and sing etc, it's just a lot more effort!.

It's like anything, if you're talented in the area it's a lot easier, but not impossible otherwise!.

If you have some basic musical ability you should be fine-most singers out there aren't just born with the ability, they have training!. You could always find a tutor and ask what they think, maybe bok a sample lesson or a trial :)Www@Enter-QA@Com

You can have perfect pitch , go about it like this, learn the standard 440 even if you have to use a tuner!. then get a chart that will show you open tunings and that will help you more then you think!. sure we all have perfect pitch, we just have to develop it!.!.!.!.!.Good luckWww@Enter-QA@Com

I'm not sure, but i believe that you can be taught from a young age but the older in age you get the harder it is!. It is probably more beneficial to learn melodic dictation, and you'll never have to spend a cent on sheet music!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Defintly, if you're not born with it, you cannot learn it!.
BUT how you know you have it !?
You have to discover it in yourself ;)Www@Enter-QA@Com
