Question: Why does everyone think Nickleback sucks!?
I'm not really into their music and I know absolutely nothing about the band, but it just seems weird that a lot of people hate them so much!. What makes them so hatable, other than saying "their music sucks"!? I Wanna be a Rock Star sounds okay, imho!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Nickelback kicked serious *** up until and during the Silver Side Up era!. That is when their music caught on with the masses!. This is also when they completely changed!. Instead of being the kickass rockers that they once were, they instead chose to divert all their attention to just becoming more famous!. They changed their sound!. They started playing for the industry instead of for themselves is how I like to put it!. They wrote generic pop songs like "Photograph" and "Far Away"!. They started putting less thought into their albums overall and coming out with one seemingly one after the other!. The creativity they once had was gone!. Some of that creativity (I will give credit where credit is due) can still be found in the direction of their music videos!. Even if the song sucks, the video is sometimes pretty cool!.
Plain and simple!. They sold out!. The reason it reminds you of Bon Jovi's later stuff is because Bon Jovi is a hair metal musician!. Success to them was selling out, and that's what they all tried for!. So, if that's what Nickelback are attempting (which it seems to be), then they accomplished it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Their older stuff doens't bother me too much, although I still don't really like it!. I feel like every song starts to sound the same: Overly emotional vocals, the guy sounds wayyy too intense, and it's just too generic alternative rock for me!.
Every song by them is either too intense, for lack of a better word, or I just think it's kind of dumb!.
Plus I think a lot of people are just plain tired of hearing them!.

I hate them because of the lazy, generic songwriting, the horrible singing and the amount of undeserved radio play and attention they get!. There is so much good music in the world!. Why on Earth would anyone CHOOSE to listen to Nickleback!? I just don't understand it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The group does not "suck!." Granted they will most likely never reach Led Zeppelin or U2's level but they do not "suck!."
