I think it was more autobiographical!. First, Elvis was naturally blond (dirty or sandy blond), he dyed his hair dark -- from all accounts because his idol was fellow Sun artist Roy Orbison!. Secondly, Elvis wasn't much of a guitar player, while Johnny Cash had a very distinctive sound!. Finally, Johnny's hometown of Kingsland, Arkansas fits "the little town" mentioned in the song far more than Tupelo, Mississippi, where Elvis hailed from!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
? I think the song is about himself "johnny cash" I think it was written about Johnny and his first guitar (written and preformed by himself, then later sung by his daughter)!.
