Is Freestyling necessary?!
Question: Is Freestyling necessary!?
Don't know if this has been asked before and if it has oh well!. In your opinion does a rapper have to be a good freestyler to be considered a great rapper all around!? Does it matter to you whether or not a rapper has to write his rhymes down and make a good track or should he be required to come off top at any given moment!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think with the present state of the game!.!.!.freestyling has become more of a commodity than a necessity!. I remember watching Run's House a while ago!.!.!.in the episode where his son wanted to be a dance, Run and his brother were explaining to Diggy (I think that's his name) that growing up, the ability to freestyle at any given point was practically rule number 1 in the Hip Hop world!. Run said that if he and DMC weren't able to, then they would not have become successful, and therefore would not have been so influential!. And that's exactly what the history detailed!. Again though, with today's state, it has become a commodity!.
There's nothing wrong with that though!.!.!.when I pick up a cd, I want good music!.!.!.I'm not gonna be looking for who's the best freestyler!. I want the best track possible!.
So does it matter to me!? Not really!.!.!.but I do appreciate a good freestylist (MC Juice, Supernatural, etc!.)

Is it *necessary*!? No, not in the current hip hop climate!. Andre Benjamin is one of the best and most creative emcees of his era and he's open about the fact that he can't freestyle and doesn't battle, due to the way he was introduced to hip hop!.
That said, I do think that the ability to freestyle (which means actually coming up with rhymes off the top of the dome; not just not writing down your lyrics--I don't know how many times I've heard people claim that Jay-Z and Biggie "freestyle" all their lyrics!.!.!.no they don't) is one of the most critical aspects of being an emcee!. Again, it's not necessary but virtually any emcee who wants to bear that title should be able to do it!. And if they can't they'd better be extremely talented in other areas to gain my respect!.
I look at it this way: a basketball player SHOULD be able to make free throws!. Shaq doesn't but in his prime he was so good in so many other facets of the game that his greatness was still apparent!. That's kinda how I see Andre as well!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Honestly it depends on the crowd some people like freestyles and some like writtne but no matter what you will get haters and if you can write the sickest verse in the world but you cant freestyle people will still think its the sickest verse no matter what but like i said you get haters that only like freestyles and you get some that only like written me personally i dont care if u can freestyle thats whats up if not thats ok its not for everyoneWww@Enter-QA@Com
Not anymore, as much as it pains me to say this, in this day and time it holds little to no weight!. It is the evolution of rap and freestyling has been phased out!. I hope it comes back, but for now it has a slight pulse and is fading quickly!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
it doesnt matter but it helps!. chuck d isnt a freestyler but the man can write!. i know some dudes who can freestyle they butt off but can write a decent rhyme!. plus its two different worlds freestyling and writing a song!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

in my opinion freestyling is one of the most important factors when it comes to judging a rappers skills!.

Yeah I think it does when I started I could only write rhymes and spit writtens but now I rarely write and just kick freestyles it builds up your spontaniety for both written and verbals which is a nescessity for an all rounder!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
