Question: I have always wanted to be a song writer , how can I get started !?
I have always wanted to be a song writer , I am always writing lyrics and songs anyway , I am tired of my job and want to make a future , I am passionate about it and dont want to regret not doing anything about it , how can I get started!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It is difficult to answer this question accurately with the limited information you gave!. I will therefore presume you have no musical training or experience!. If that is the case then you need to do the following!.
Become a singer and become a musician first!. Piano and guitar are both useful skills for songwriters to have!. Without some knowledge of musical theory you would be severely disadvantaged when writing songs and if you don't have those skills then the advise given by your first two answers is useless because you will almost certainly fail!.
Buy a book or two on songwriting!.
Listen to lots of music of the genre you wish to write!.
When writing a song expect to re-work it as many times as it takes to get it right!. Highly experienced or very talented songwriters can do it much quicker, beginners usually can not!.
Write about subjects which touch people!.
Analyse hit songs and try to understand what made those songs great!.

I wanted to be one to!.all you do is start writing about stuff how you feel sometimes ens and then you can post it to someone you know who need songs and will use it!.I wrote song and then i desingn my own songs and then i put a little of my voice with my uncle have their own band play at places sometime and

Record companies tend to throw out submissions they haven't solicited!. You have to come to their notice independently, and this means a lot of footwork!. Selling songs to others is no easy matter either!.
But if you can sing as well, take singing lessons to maximize your range and delivery!. Then enter contests like American Idol, though I don't think they let anyone sing their own songs!.

'On the Street Where You Live', by Alan Jay Lerner!.

Get into a studio and record a demo CD!. Keep writing songs!. Go to local clubs and ask them if you can play!. Keep writing songs!. Busk on the street!. And keep writing songs!. You've got the talent!. Go for it!Www@Enter-QA@Com

write some songs which you think are good/decent and take them to a recording company, or places where bands start out, or if you can sing then sing your own songs in a band or something,
