Question: New country or old!?
I personally would prefer the newer music!. Taylor swift,carrie underwood,rodney adkins,sugarland,etc!. But it seems that a lot of the people on Yahoo like the older generation of music!. So wich type of country music do you think is better!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

I love country music from 1922 - 1987!. After that, the pop/rock influence became the rule rather than the exception!.
There had always been "pop" influx (the first #1 song in "Billboard" country chart history was by Bing Crosby & the Andrews Sisters doing an Al Dexter song), but until recently the "pop" sound was never presented as the singular definition of "country music!." Even when Glen Campbell was annoying us with all those Jimmy Webb songs in the late 60s you still had Buck Owens and Merle Haggard coming up if you didn't like Glen!. Definitely old!. New country is too "pop" but it is a lot of fun-those artist you listed are a lot of fun to listen to and sing along with!. But, I think the old school country singers that came from the backwoods and worked hard to become famous, did it with hard work and a unique sound!. They helped define country music which is what makes them special!. Read up and listen to Johnny Cash or Loretta Lynn or Patsy Cline or Conway Twitty or Dolly Parton to see what I mean!.

from the 90's back!.!.!.(almost) anything from 2000 on has become more pop then country!. I'm 25 (not old) but I prefer the older music!. It had more to do w/ the actual music & lyrics!.!.!.now it's just bobbin' your head, and rockin' out!.!.!.not even country in my opinion!. It also seems that the "older" generation of singers had to make a name for themselves, they literally came from nothing (dolly parton admits that she was "dirt poor"!.!.)!. Singers today don't have to go through any sorrow or hardships!. They have their manager, producer, do all the work for them!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I like all music but I would have to say country music has goe way to mainstream and a bit to pop oriented So if you are a young person do yourself a favor and go get some older stuff!. There is no such thing as bad music just some of it is better then others ha haWww@Enter-QA@Com
Hey as long as the lyrics are country then it is all good for me!. I like stuff from Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Jr!., Alabama, Waylon Jennings,and George Jones to Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson, George Strait, Clint Black, even to Jason Aldean, Montgomery Gentry, and Tim McGraw!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
