I'm tired of all of this "emo" bullshit from people who don't even know what it truly means OR don't understand what it is!.!.!.!.
cutting goes in all labels!.!.!.not just emos!. I really want to know what they have against "Emos" I've been beaten up,kicked,teased,treated cruel just because I'm emo!. I don't think all of this violence is nessary for a sub culture that you can either A!.) accept

Here's the problem; a majority of the people judge emo kids when they DON'T even know what they're really like! Everyone tends to think that emos slit their wrists, are depressed all the time, cry their eyes out, complain about everything, and are whiny and ungrateful!.!.!.When 99% of the time, that's just an incorrect stereotype people have gotten us mixed up with!. Yes, there are "emos" who fit the discription that I just gave, and their behavior does get annoying!. But that doesn't mean *ALL* of the emos are like that!.
Myself, along with many friends of mine would NOT fit that stereotype!. And, I'm tired of everyone associating all emos with being wrist cutters!. I know many who don't cut, including myself!.
Why are people giving us such a hard time!? Any other group of people have stereotypes just as we do!. The Goths are known for being dark and dark minded, the Punks are known for being disrespectful and troublemakers, the Preps are known for being sIutty and stuck-up, the Emos are known for being cutters and whiners!.!.!.And the list goes on!
I'm not intentionally labeling certain people, I'm just using this as an example on how people are labeled!.!.!.When it doesn't necessarily mean that EVERYONE in those groups are exactly like what their known for!. The same goes for Emos!. Not all of them are like what they're known to be, and I wish people would just understand that!. We're just like anyone else!.!.!.You know, we're human too!. No need to treat us like we're aliens just because we dress or look differently than what you may 'prefer'!. I've come to meet many interesting people, and so many of them are my fellow emos!. They're really awesome people once you get to know them, and they're just really unique!.
I hope you all will one day realize that you shouldn't have judged people before you even had a chance to get to know them!.

I honestly used to think it was just a fad because after a while it seemed like everybody and their mom claimed they were emo!. It was like all the kids were turning or trying to look emo so it really pissed me off!.

People disrespect emo's because most of them just do it for attention!. Most people who are "emo" do not even know where the word comes from!. As Emo comes from a Punk style of music created in the 1980's (not unlike some "screamo" bands of today, but more raw!.) most people feel that emo's are little annoying people who think that MCR is the most Hardcore thing in the world!. They claim that this music is emo, and is better than any other music that they're is!. also they start to listen to metalcore and deathcore like job for a cowboy, and tag themselves as SCENE, which is equally as annoying because then they think that those bands are the most hardcore and Br00tal things in the world!. also emo is generally associated with people who cry alot and cut themselves, not that this is usually the case!. Many people find this annoying and feel that they do it soley for attention and do not actually feel this way!.

I have nothing against emos myself!. The thing is emo today though is not what it was like 10 years ago!. Emo has turned into what people are saying is a style!. I agree that today more emos are trying to stand out from the world and are trying to fit into the "emo style"!. I myself though am not fond if this new idea that emos have to dress a certain way!.
Now as far as the music goes, emo music necessarily isn't bad!. However, when most people think of emo bands, they think of bands like My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, and Panic! At The Disco!. They think of this sadly because most emos these days are buying into that sort of music, emo-pop!. Because of this people believe that all emo bands have to wear makeup and "dress like girls"!.
Sadly emo these days has turned into a mall-goth fashion!. Remember the days when there were bands like Sunny Day Real Estate, Moss Icon, and Texas Is The Reason!? Those bands are all cosidered emo, but their music is excellent!. If you notice though, that all the bands members of Sunny Day Real Estate never wore make up or was into this mall-goth fashion!. They were just regular people playing music!.
I guess I can go as far as to say that emo music has changed for the worst!. You can't expect though that anyone is going to let up or tolerate emos because of that!. I really don't know what to tell you about how you should be dealing about your problems!.
