He just sold 1 million records right now, peep the news!.
Nobody sold 1 million records in the first week since 50 Cent with The Massacre in '05!. I've been a fan of hip hop since '96, it's 10 years now!. I know what a good rap song is about!. Lyrics, quality beat and all that!. I critized once, and I'll keep on criticizing!. It doesn't make sense!.!.!. a dude with a flawed voice, lack of flow, questionable wordplay and metaphors structure, to get this far!. All I can say is that, sometimes, he sounds funny!. It's like he's the rap game clown trying to sound serious, which makes him even more funny!. It's like this new generation of rap fans not making their homeworks - some of 'em don't even have a clue of who Grand Master Flash and Melle Mel is!. They also have a hard time when we ask about Slick Rick, Kool G Rap, Rakim or Big Daddy Kane!. It's weird to see a rap record sellin' 1 million without any genuine nice lyricism!. I agree with you (though I don't believe you have to be fans of old school artists you mentioned in order to really know hip hop)!.
Lil Wayne has taken over because the masses are dumb; I am dead serious!. He's easy to rap along with because his lyrics are so simple!. also, he's funny because when he is making his tracks you know he's gone off that 'dro in the studio!. To add, he talks about everything the masses enjoy hearing, for some strange reason (money, females, drugs)!.
His lyrics are sub-par, he lacks substance, and he chooses quantity over quality!. I cannot believe people see him as the best rapper alive; sh** it's heartbreakin' to see what has happened to the game!. I think more than anything people like his swagger!.
Certainly, he's a had a few good songs but not enough for the amount of songs he has produced!.
