I'm thinking about this hard to make sure I don't give an answer for someone who's way past his prime (Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton), since I think the point of asking about living is to try to avoid all the people whose best music came from 20+ years ago!.

For me Alex Skolnick from TestAmenT & the Alex Skolnick trio!. He plays kickass metal as well as some cool jazz which I wasn't sure I would dig but do!.
