Do U think its bad that my top songs from great bands like the Police/the Cars/Z!

Question: Do U think its bad that my top songs from great bands like the Police/the Cars/ZZTop and so on are the radio!.!.
hits!.!.!.I mean!. I bought the cassettes back in the days because I loved the song off the radio and eventually liked most the tape!. But even to this day most of the time I answer a question in R&P about favorite songs from so and so!.!.!.I always have the majority of their ""Greatest Hits"" while U guys have obscure ones that alot of people dont even know!.!.<me included at times lol:)!. But I feel I still love these songs(even though they were overplayed), because it was a moment in my life that I associate with each song!.!.!.!.!.ex!.first date!.!.!.kiss!.!.!.dance!.!.!.drive by myself without persons!.!.!.U get what I mean!? I do dig deeper and like other songs, and a few trump another in my fave catagory, but thats me:) Is there anyone else who maybe shy to admit they like the ""Popular Song"""!? thanks:)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
No!.!.!.!.but I DO think it's very annoying that radio ignores SO many of the deep cuts!. Never does great bands justice if they just spin the same 3 songs over & over!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Something about a top hit pop song makes it a timeless classic (usually), so why feel guilty about it!?

I have the same phenomena with karaoke, and am continually amazed at the new songs I learn about when others pick them from all the decades!. Lovin' the time warping going on, and if you want to dig deeper, check out your band of interest on youtube!. Lots of obscure cuts there!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

not necessarily!.!.!.radio cuts make it to airplay because they appeal to a broader range of people

if that includes you, then so what!?

what I really like is buying albums and hearing songs that I haven't heard on the radio!.!.!.that doesn't mean they're all better!.!.!.just fresher material for me to feast onWww@Enter-QA@Com

The popular song- If it's a good tune, I'm not afraid to admit that I like it!.They play the songs to get people like you and I interested in listening to their station!. We like it whether we admit it or not!. Nothing wrong with liking good music!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think we get in a rut of listening to mostly popular tunes because if we ask someone who does not listen to entire albums, like some of us , do you like ''Canary In A Coalmine'' by The Police they look at you like you're the dumbassWww@Enter-QA@Com

I don't think it's bad, it doesn't make you any less a fan than those that know the lesser known ones!. You like what you like, it would be bad if you heard them on the radio and then started ranting about how much you love those bands when you only know a couple popular songs that you found out by the radio!. But you seem to actually like those songs and don't just like them because the radio gave them to you!. I don't think it's bad at all!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I like popular songs too, and I like songs that aren't so popular!. Songs like The Hand That Feeds by NIN are popular and many people wouldn't even like Nine Inch Nails just because other people know/like the band!. I also like more underground bands like Imperative Reaction (more unknown than underground, but you get the point)!.

It shouldn't really matter if a band is mainstream or not, all that should matter is if they appeal to the listeners they are trying to appeal to!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

it used to be that music had to actually be good to get on the radio!.

i dont think it much matters what songs you list here anyway!.!.!.most of the times the askers are beyond clueless and will give your picks a hearty "they suck" if they acknowledge them at all!.!.!.good thing we get to vote!

dont overworry it, alot of contributors here seem to try to be obscure with their picks anyway!.

now playing:(you caught me) smilin' - sly and the family stoneWww@Enter-QA@Com
