Am I too old to learn the piano?!

Question: Am I too old to learn the piano!?
I am 20!.
I have always had a passion for music - all genres, and I have always wanted to learn how to play an instrument!.

I asked a question a couple of days ago on how I was thinking about buying myself a used piano off eBay!. Due to small rooms and the cost of having them delievered and tuned, I am thinking of a digital keyboard/piano, but with 88 keys, not the standard 61 keys!.

My question is:
1) Am I too old!?
2) Is there much of a difference between an upright piano with 88 keys and a digital keyboard/piano with 88 keys!?

Thanks!. I am grateful for any additional tips as well!Www@Enter-QA@Com

The biggest difference is the sound - an upright piano sounds more organic and feels more like a real instrument!. You need to consider things like key size, height and weight of the keyboard on a digital piano!.

It is never too late - just don't expect to be a maestro!. A joy of music can come from the mastery of even simple tunes!.
I started to learn late in life and can play a few pieces by Chopin!. It's never too late to do anything, as long as you are physically and mentally capable!.

Perhaps you should rent one for a bit and see if you are any good!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

1!. No, we can learn piano at any age!. Never late to start learning!. I am starting my piano lesson at age of 22, and I can do it well, believe you can too!. First, you might think it is difficult but enjoy how to play it then you can learn it fast!. Adults are better than children in understanding the musical notes!.
2!. Not that much except that upright piano is absolutely have a richer voice than digital piano!. But do not use keyboard to practice piano!. You can try digital piano, some of it has graded hammer so you can improve your fingering too!. Keyboard is lightweighted and you might not improve at all!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Never to old my friend! What many people does is to learn by simple notes, don't need to read pentagram, even if you want to learn the classic way is never late!. Besides, you are not 50 man, you're not even a full adult, you can't sill get inside some places, or rent a car in many countries!.

A real piano is a real Piano, the real deal, but a good digital stage piano will sound as good when playing live and are easier to transport and record and the sound will be very good, look at Elton John, he uses Roland pianos!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I recently met a woman who took up piano at 45 and is now doing her teaching exams for it! I once met a man of 75 years of age in doing his grade 4! I could not believe it, you are never too old, while an electronic one is fine, the feel of the keys of an upright, real piano and tone is better, I think, but at end of day its all about room and price, be very careful buying a second hand piano, unless you know a lot about them, hopefully you will be lucky, good luck!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Not at all!. You can learn at any age, all it takes is an hour a day minimum (I would recommend) and a willingness to learn!.

I think digital pianos are very good regarding sound and space issues!. However the 'feel' is different, for obvious reasons!.

also, get lessons- because a good tutor can teach you things in minutes that might otherwise take months for you to figure out!.

Good luck!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's well worth it!

Never too old! I did piano lessons for about three years when I was a young child, but decided it wasn't for me!. If you have the desire to learn and the dedication, you should have no problem!. You'll probably need a lot of patience though :)Www@Enter-QA@Com
